Very buggy. Not intuitive. Needs work.

Here it goes…this app is terrible but I look forward to improvements because I like having access to extended and alternate mixes when I’m out and about. I included bullets below to make it easy for the developers to address.-The app defaults to “Discover,” but the point (in my opinion) is to put your previously-selected and downloaded collection somewhere that’s accessible while you’re out and about, right? It should default to your collection. Discover is clunky on mobile.-Search. You can’t search an artist’s name…I’m sure they’re working on it but what???-Playlists. Click on a playlist title, it goes to the playlist for a second, then bugs out, the screen flashes, and you’re brought back to the playlist home screen.-Listening in the car with driving directions on. The music stops playing when the next turn is announced, but it doesn’t resume playing after the directions app has done its thing.-Some tracks just don’t load. Magic Carpet by Kyle Watson is a notable track that hasn’t worked for me…maybe it works for others?I hope they improve the app!

Stop complaing

The app is very nice! Adds onto the link experience nicely! For someone who can afford to pay for link, it’s very much worth it. If you’re ever stuck and feeling uninspired it’s always nice to jump into one of the “beatport curated playlists”, this is game changer! I’ve been waiting for this app for almost a year now

Great!

One thing I would like is for there to be seamless and gap less playback between each track on the full version. This would be cool if you could play an album and have songs that flow into each other crossfade into each other seamlessly.

Has potential but not quite there yet.

I love that I can compile my playlists on the go. I do 90% of my music listening in the car. Lately I’ve been having issues with this app constantly crashing while in use. It also logs me out sometimes when it crashes. I have to re-enter my login details when it does. Be nice if the app could use the iPhone’s facial recognition for logging in.

Amazing Setup

The way you search for music is an Amazing Concept. I love how when i search for the Dj i need, there is a page and a awesome setup to find the music your looking for and the quality is outstanding coming out if my JBLe350s sounds like a festival on quarter Volume. Convenient for sure

Don’t listen to the confused whiners, this app is good for what you’d need a phone to do. Scan tracks/genres and be able to check out music out in the world. Then go to the computer and purchase the playlist (where you would prefer to download your tracks anyway). The only thing I’d suggest would be adding the tracks you like to a virtual cart to be bought in a computer later.

Great app for creating set lists on mobile

I love how easy it is to have access to bangers that fans of all genres will love. Only recommendation is that there be an option to switch between types of key formats for songs.

Need A Subscription To Browse?!

I was super super excited when I got an email saying Beatport came out with a new app. That excitement shortly dissipated after seeing that you need a Link subscription to even browse music. Would love to be able to add items to a wishlist of some sorts and then buy on the web. Between the website and now the app, I feel like Beatport just goes in the opposite direction with every move they make.EDIT: Q3 has come and gone and still no login for normal users without a subscription. Done waiting, just going to delete the app. Hopefully by next Q3 we have a login option for users without a subscription.

Finally!

I’ve been a Beatport user since the early 2000’s. One thing I’ve wished for was a mobile app to easily discover music while on the go. Finally! Nice, clean, and simple layout. Easy to setup to stream my favorite genres and create playlists of tracks. One feature I would love to see added is full integration with Apple CarPlay. Either way… I’ll be listening daily and the Beatport LINK subscription just became a much better value with this app. Thanks Beatport team!

Still buggy (iOS 14.6)

Search logic isn’t quite there yet. Most of the time, I found that the artist that I search for is the last or second to last entry in a long list of search results some of which don’t even include any part of the artist name that I typed. When filtering down from an artist’s “view all” tracks listing, most of the time the search result(s) won’t show. Only grayed out rectangular shapes arranged like actual entries are displayed and they’re not clickable. So tracks that match the criteria are found, just their actual meta data isn’t properly displayed and linked to the location of the tracks.
