Amazing content, very bad app experience
Assalamuwalaikum, absolutely love the content. Ustadh Nouman is doing an amazing job bringing people closer to the book of Allah (SWT), Alhamdulillah. My love for the words of Allah (SWT) and the desire to learn Quranic Arabic increased tremendously, Barakallahfikum!Unfortunately the app experience is not good at all. It seems nobody designed the app. Things are just randomly put together. My assumption is that nobody is doing any usability testing. Even a casual heuristic evaluation will reveal tons of issues. I think it would benefit if you consider hiring a good app development agency or an UX engineer and UI designer. Also from a development perspective it has a lot of bugs. A team of good designers and developers can transform the app experience.Such amazing content deserves a better app experience. Jajakallahu Khairan for reading.
Subscription issues
I’m downloading the app once again and giving it another go. The first time I tried subscribing, there were two payments taken out of my account. I’ve tried and tried time and time again to get a refund for that second charge to my account with no luck. I really hope the app has been fixed, updated, and just overall better this time around.
Fantastic content/technical issues
It goes without saying that the content on this app is amazing; it has personally brought me so much knowledge about the Qur’an and my deen. But there have been some persistent technical issues that haven't been fixed in years, and that really should have been, considering all the customers paying a monthly fee. Why does the video playback still jump all over the place? Why when you go from one video to another does it start at the same minute that the last video you watched stopped on? The content is why I give this app three stars instead of two.
Background playing does not work
The initial BTV app could play the audio/video in the background, meaning locking the device could still play the audio or video file, which this new app does not do that. The registration issue was solved through accessing bayyinahtv from desktop browser. As the new release its quite understandable that, there will be glitches on first few releases. I hope the developers behind the app would take into consideration on the comments from the users and improve the app based on these comments.
Restarting and double playing
Salam. I love Bayyinah and have been a subscriber since 2016 but I have had a lot of issues with the app. Whenever I pause the video for a little bit and then play again, it starts to double play. For example when I press play after pausing, the video will start all over again and play from where I resumed at one time. They are overlapping one another. Another issue that I’ve had with the app is that when it is playing and I exit from the full screen feature, the video will restart or play from an earlier time in that same video. For example, say I am watching a deeper look lecture on full screen from my phone and I exit full screen at say time stamp 23:13, the video will either restart or play from time stamp 16:12. It is like the app has a mind of its own.
Amazing app for Islamic knowledge!
I am a revert and this has been the best app for me to learn more about the Quran, what Allah expects from me, and Islam in general. Exactly what I needed for my deen. Just a suggestion on the development side: there should be the ability to save your progress in a lecture or an area called “continue watching”. Otherwise, I have to screenshot the last lecture I listened to do I will not forget.
Excellent content but the app needs some work
JazakAllah khair for providing such a high quality content. I wish that the app developers can make some changes to make it more user friendly on the go. Ability to make audio playlists and integration into Apple CarPlay will be extremely helpful for commuters. That will allow the users to use the app without constant interaction with the interface, similar to podcasts. Thank you for your consideration.
Bad customer service
This has good content and all but the way they are handling support is very bad , and this new change is only about asking me to pay even after I have paid and btw I am a member since last ten years and this is what they do ? cut off my access so many times that every time I sign in I need to send a request and ask them why I am unable to access to my account even though the payment is autopay and they take the amount through PayPal on 1st of every month but still when I want to access they ask me to get subscription! Ridiculous service ! I don’t know any customer care number , nothing is mentioned on website and if I email them they take atleast seven or five working days to respond ! Who is the world would wait for so long just to get a reply back ! Disappointed !
Love the content hate the app
Bayyinah tv has rich and interesting content that has greatly benefited me and increased my understanding of the Qur’an. But the app still needs work. The login doesn’t display correctly which made it hard to log in bc the bottom of the screen was only showing a very small part of the login button. I couldn’t scroll down to press it and it took a while to get it to reapond. Also they didn’t make it easy to use while driving. At least make the play/pause button larger so it will be easier to press while driving. I’ve lost bookmarks or last video watched whenever they made an update or when it’s bn a while since I used the app. I still appreciate the fact that this app exists and can’t wait for better improvements in the near future.

5 Star for Content and -5 Star for app and support. Ya Allah please help these developers to resolve all the major issue soon (Ameen)I have been subscribed bayyanah TV since almost beginning. Lost access to contact after the recent app upgrade(remove/install). When login it ask me to pay for it. My account is auto pay via paypal from day one.
