Trip down memory lane

The game is great and I still play it at times, scouting for some German convoys exporting iron from Norway in battle of the atlantic and the German glide bomb. Through the years I played, there are still some glitches that I ran into, such as an endless torpedo run, where one of my torpedoes missed and didn’t seem to stop, which caused me to restart the game. The game could use new ships too, such as some ww1 destroyer the US gave to Britain in exchange for bases, or the graff Zeppelin, in which most people would agree with, since the ship began construction before the war, but was never completed. I would like to see how the ship would handle in the battle of the Atlantic. I do hope you will see this, probably not, but there are still people like me that enjoy games like these.

I can’t even do campaign mode! Help!

Ok, maybe I’m just bad with technology, but I only have 6,000 Renown (the in game currency to those reading). The least expensive ship is 45,000! I thought: Oh, maybe I had a submarine like in Pacific Fleet? Nope! I have to buy a 45,000 Renown ship with only 6,000 Renown and NO SHIP! How am I supposed to earn money without any means?! I tapped THE WHOLE FLIPPING SCREEN. There were 3 buttons. The button that brought up some sort of ship catalog of all of the ships I cannot afford, the button that relinquishes all ships under my command (wish I even had one), and the exit button to go to the previous screen. I was so fed up I just tapped every single pixel. Maybe there was an invisible button? I mean after tapping every single button, word, or hyperlink, tapping everything that’s not a button or word or hyperlink seems like a good idea. I’m fed up and maybe there’s a simple solution but for the life of me I can’t find it, there’s this little while circle in the middle of the screen for campaign but it doesn’t do crap!

Best game ever

I love this game so much but there’s some things that I need you to fix and this is going to be correct because I am a pretty much a big history nerd first of all The fritz X is a guided bomb also you need to add the graf Zeppelin it was actually built but right after it was sent to sea The crew abandoned it also can you please add during June 6, 1944 for the British there’s like a Normandy Landing mission for every ship in the Britain area where are you have to destroy the coastal defenses also for The ships if the shells hit right under the gun of the ship could like the magazine explode and then the ship sinks because some famous ships actually got destroyed because the magazine exploding like the hood so can you please add all of this and I will never stop playing this game please just please add all this or some of this just please at least add one thing

Use your map for accuracy

Great game with tons of replay value. Most of the negative reviews cite the inaccurate rangefinding of radar. This is true. Use the map instead - it is hyper-accurate. On your first shot use whatever to radar suggests. After that, bring your ships broadside and to a halt. Check the map for each shot after. You'll quickly get the hang of how much to modify the elevation to get hits every time. I've 3 starred every mission and won the battle of the atlantic on both sides easily using this. I think it would be boring if it were automatic. In true sims like Silent Hunter series, you're constantly accessing the map and using skill to beat the game. BTW this is best played on big screens like iPads or iphone 6+. I tried on iphone 5 and it's a little too small for me.

Balance?

I get that the Germans are outnumbered and all that, but the disparity between their ships and contemporary Allied ships is huge. I have stuck 6 aerial torpedoes in a pocket battleship before it sank all while it pounded my carrier, and put two 21” torpedoes in an AMC and she still didn’t sink while I lose cruisers to just one torpedo. The British cruisers get curbstomped by the German ones even when I hit them more because the German ships, especially in turrets, play like they’re well armored whereas the British ones seem to be made out of cardboard. Another thing that is a really bad feature is the rangefinding. I have been hit badly first turn at 20,000 yards (long range!!) which essentially decided the battle before it began. Meanwhile, I have to either guess the range or follow the inconsistent at best guess the game gives me. Subs also spawn way too close, I’ve had battleships and carriers I spent half a year in BoA mode saving for torped by a sub that spawned close enough for the torpedoes to hit the same turn they were fired. Overall super biased towards the Germans when in reality the British ships are pretty equal, not to mention some really demoralizing gameplay at times.

Not bad, but could be so much better

Range finding is a joke. WWII naval gunnery was not guess-work, especially once a ship had the range. But in this game it is - from one hit to the next miss, you're purely guessing actual range. It would be so much more interesting if the devs built in an honest-to-goodness range finding sim that worked. Armor also seems to be poorly modeled. King George V class battleships had armor actual equal to, or by some analyses, superior to that of Bismark. Yet the damage incurred in this game seems disproportionate for these two classes of ships. I know it's a game, but it could be much closer to a true Sim with just a few tweaks. Better range finding and gunnery modifications, better hit damage and armor modeling would be what I'd want to see (been playing naval war aims since the early 1990s so this is my first for iOS). All that said, it's not without a strong fun factor!

Needs improvement

Not bad but the AI is much better than user abilities. Ranging is way off and AI has much better accuracy than users. Some battle ships take a ton of shells to sink. 50+ hits. AI seems to have better maneuverability and their moves take themfarther than user. The bombing and rockets from planes is a complete joke of course unless it is AI then it is deadly accurate. Submarines are a waste of time unless you are spawned close to your targets. Sub moves are very short compared to ships. If spawned too far away you will never get a good chance to launch torpedos. Torpedo range is also a joke unless AI. Almost every time torpedos get close to their target they disappear snd you wasted your torpedos. Also take way too long to reload torpedos. Most of the time the ships are out of range by the time your submarine reloads torpedoes. And it only reloads a couple at a time. The game is OK but after the first two or three missions it gets boring because nothing connects with its target.

Good game but…

It just needs some better graphics and stuff and more variations of ships like destroyers, battle ships etc are fun but what about actual gunboats witch I know were very small and mainly only had mgs but different kinds of ships would be nice and there already are a lot but most are of the same stuff like how there is a bunch of different cargo ships but some did have small defense turrets among other things, but it would be cool if you had mine layers for ASW stuff, and add mgs so you can damage crews of ships witch granted wouldn’t do much to like a battle ships crew but for like destroyers it could hinder ability’s like damaging the tower could hurt the crews and make them bad at the things you hurt witch there is already a system for that but, other ships like the huge craft they used in beach landing would be cool, or just make a game for modern stuff could work even though there would be a lot to do.

Nice game but could be better

I LOVE this game but some ships are missing that I would love to see the USS Fletcher class Graf Zeppelin and ships like the camble town here are some reasons why. First, YES the Fletcher classes were used in the Atlantic and the Americans have corvettes and those are the CLOSEST and I mean CLOSEST TO destroyers. Second, the graf zeppelin was started before the war and was never completed and I would really want to fly stukas and Bf-109s that would fly to destroy ships. OFF TOPIC-QUESTION! I also would wanna use the float planes on the ship, would be nice, finally, THE WWI DESTROYERS WERE AMAZING especially the Capmbletown . Those were my questions and request thank you for reading (if you were)

amazing game but could use more ships (especially for the germans)

love the game, but i think the graf zepplin should be added so the germans can get a carrier and add some more american BBs such as the Wyoming class, New York class, Nevada class and add some american heavy/ light cruisers to the mix too like the pensacola and the Brooklyn and add some more ships for the germans besides the carrier i mentioned because the british have WAY more ships available than the germans and it would make "Battle of the Atlantic" mode more fun since u could counter more bbs and ships other than just subs after u sink the scharnhorst bbs and the bismark bbs when playing as the Allies. (also u should make a game like this based off of the Battle Of Jutland in WWI)
