Can be a little confusing

Not as bad as the other review suggests but can be confusing if you’re not starting from square 1. The app was redesigned to reflect the updated guidelines for screening and management. The major thing this app is missing that was present in the old version was the “next steps” section where you could continue to enter results and it would take you down the appropriate pathway. If this feature is implemented then this app would be great!

Why not update the last app???

I do not understand why the last app was not updated and we have to purchase a new one. I had no idea there was a new app. I assumed my last app was auto updating with the most recent guidelines. I ended up recommending a colpo for a patient that didn’t need one because I was using an outdated app and recommendations changed. Thankfully she did not end up having an unnecessary procedure but this is a huge issue. At the very least, a notification when opening the last app stating an updated version is available would have been nice so we not using outdated information. This is not good patient care.

Not user friendly

I loved the old app! It was extremely user friendly, efficient, and always got me the info I needed. This new app is incredibly frustrating and often ends with “not enough information” or “use your clinical judgement.” I wish I had known so I wouldn’t have deleted the old version and paid the $9.99 for this one. I am part of a social network of thousands of women OB/Gyns that are feeling similarly to me. I am hoping this app will be revised, and fast, otherwise I will likely end up deleting it. It is a shame, because I used the old app several times a day.

Frustrating.

I hope I am missing something. I wish this app was as integrated as the previous one- this one seems to require a person have both this app for the latest guidelines, and the previous one to have the actual recommendations. Which makes sense from a monetary stand point since the last app was not updated and instead a new app was made- but frustrating from a clinician POV.

Simplified patient care

This app is a very user friendly medical app that includes all of the updates management guidelines so I can better manage my patients. It includes prior risk thresholds that predict current and future risk. Like the last app this one takes some wine to get used to, but once you do, it makes shared decision making very efficient.

Good info for patients/chart

I have found the app to be easy to use and, while it has not changed how I would manage the patient, the percentage risk numbers allow for a better discussion with the patient and better data when documenting decision making. Overall it is worthwhile.

New version not intuitive

This app has great information. The old version was super easy to use. But this new version is confusing, not intuitive and I feel like even after spending a lot of time on the app, I can’t always find the information I’m looking for. Wish they would go back to their older versions with step by step input from screen to screen. And I wish they would provide the references flow sheets from the guidelines in their results. Please improve!

Great app!

I really appreciate this app. I’m a nurse and I work in a pap follow-up department so I use this every day and it’s incredibly helpful. My co-workers and I noticed one thing after the recent update, though: y’all spelled “colposcopy” wrong on the “Evaluation of a colposcopy biopsy” button. I mean, come on guys, this is a professional medical organization — use spell check.

Not user friendly

The previous version was far more intuitive. When you try to start entering in your most recent results and where to go from there, it becomes unclear if it is wanting you to collect and enter in cytology and HPV status from AFTER your last test (eg colpo biopsy or LEEP) or if you are entering in cytology and HPV from BEFORE your last test. Then, if what you have done in the past or what you have been given (such as a new patient you’re trying to catch up on) doesn’t match up with the algorithm order, it just doesn’t even give you any recommendations. I feel like I’m going to have to know the guidelines so thoroughly in order to even use the app that I won’t even need it by then!

great app, a notification on the old app would have been good!

I use this app daily. i’m glad to see that there are now ways to input previous results. it would be a very good idea to send a notification to all the previous app users that they need to update to this new one.

Description

New 2019 ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests and cancer precursors provide new recommendations. ASCCP is pleased to offer this app to streamline navigation of the ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests and cancer precursors. The guidelines articles, as published in the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, as well as the comprehensive risk estimates, can be accessed through https://www.asccp.org/guidelines.

These evidence-based management guidelines, initially developed in 2019, came together through a consensus process of 19 organizations. The updated management guidelines aim to: • Allow for a more complete and precise estimation of risk • Provide more appropriate intervention for high-risk individuals (detect and treat more precancer) • Recommend less intervention for low-risk individuals (decrease testing and treatment that won’t prevent cancer and may cause reproductive harm) • Allow for the future addition of new risk modifiers and screening and management technologies See https://www.asccp.org/UserGuide for tips on using the app.
