Skeptical at first but so worth it!

I have been a loyal Artic Station user for years. Like most I was skeptical about paying a subscription for this app since the other was just fine. Then came my free trail of what I affectionally refer to as “the beehive.” Mind blown🤯So much thought has gone into this app. It is my grab and go for ALL my artic sessions across age levels and abilities. Though it does hurt to shell out a yearly payment, I will gladly pay the subscription (or convince my PTA to pay) to not have to worry about planning countless sessions every week. For those that are giving this app a poor rating just because it is a subscription shame on you. Give it a try explore all the options. This is a high quality app I recommend for all SLPs in the schools. Thank you for my beehive!

I LOVE THIS APP

I have been a long time fan of Articulation Station, but I have to say, the new Articulation Station Hive has everything I never knew I was missing! It offers the ability to work at every level, from isolation to conversation. The animated pictures representing various sounds are engaging and memorable (and did I mention they are animated?!?) At the syllable level, sliders give you the opportunity to walk your students through the sound blending process. New pictures and target words have been added as well as a fun new spinner sentences. One of my favorite new features is the conversation level. Beautiful picture scenes are offered with a ton of clickable pictures to give additional conversation starters. Another choice at the conversational level is an array of interesting questions such as “would you rather?” and “have you ever?” sets. For your students with phonological processes, this app has you covered because there are a ton of minimal pairs. For score reporting, there are new graph features. And as if all of this is not enough, Hive throws in a fun little extra and offers you the ability to change the app background with seasonal and holiday backgrounds. If you treat kids (older or younger) with speech sound disorders, this app is a must have!!!

Love the program, dislike the subscription.

I have been a loyal follower of this app for many years. They are easy to work with and respond to any questions I have quickly and are always so helpful.I am very excited about their new app and used the seven day trial and as expected, I love it. They are very good to update their apps and keep them running smoothly. All the scores and information stored in one app is great and everything transferred over smoothly to the new program.Cons are definitely the subscription. The new program in my opinion just doesn’t contain enough new material to warrant the subscription. The program can be slightly cumbersome to navigate quickly and I don’t like the new font or font size of the editable emails I send to parents with the word lists. Not as easy to read and too small compared to the other program. I also would love if there were more stories like in the stories app.All that being said, I do love the program and the helpfulness of the programmers and the thoughtfulness that went into the app.I also love the homework idea that was in the other review. That would be incredibly helpful if it could be added to this program.

Therapy Changer

I absolutely love this new app! I have used Little Bee from the beginning but this new app has changed my therapy overnight! The new features of being able to target vowels, minimal pairs, and sounds at the syllable level make planning and providing therapy so much easier! I also love the ability to choose words, improvements to the matching game, and the variety of sentences. The aspect I love the most is the amazing data graphs. I have students in kindergarten through sixth grade ask to see their data. When I go to write progress reports, all I need is my iPad and I am able to quickly see the data along with any notes I have taken. This has made me a better therapist and saved me time. I can’t wait to see what additional features they add.

Perfect update!

I have been using Articulation Station for quite a few years. It was a great app, but there were ways that it didn’t address all of my therapy needs. I love that Hive has so many new features that are super fun and engaging! I love that sounds can be practiced on many levels from isolation and syllables up to conversation. I have found the hand cues and the videos of the sound in isolation helpful because my students and I can watch them and talk about what we see and hear. I find that the isolation and syllable practice activities help keep my students engaged. The minimal pairs are really fun. There are many more pictures and stories than the original version and I like that I can control the contexts (such as adjusting the syllable length of the words.). I was a little hesitant to try because it is a subscription but after my one week trial, I could see that it is completely worth it!

Great app from a great company!

This is a great app for a great company. I’ve been using it with preschool age children and it’s provided an abundance of activities for us to do during therapy times. When I first heard of the Hive, I was unsure if it would have much more to offer than the pro version of Articulation station, however it is like Little Bee has anticipated anything that a therapy session could ever need and added it to this app! The sliding syllables activity is definitely one of the most asked for activities during sessions. And I like how the matching games can be customized with number of cards available. I also like that there is a way to incorporate minimal pairs into the flash card drills when/if needed.Also any questions that I’ve had about the app, Little Bee has answered quickly and thoroughly. It truly is a wonderful company!

Student Approved App

So many apps have high claims and they fall short of your expectations. This is not the case with Articulation Station Hive app. It has so many great features that your students will dive into them. I say, “if it passes the student test which is if they enjoy the app and they are very engaged with the learning, then “GET IT”. As a therapist I love the Hive app for multiple reasons. This app works for all ages and skills. The app is so versatile. It’s my “Go-to” app for speech sounds, phonology, language and literacy goals. It doesn’t stop there, I’ve used it to assess and to informally check generalization skills. I’ve even used it for stuttering assessments- speech samples, and for ELL learners who need the visual, auditory and print support. It saves my voice from modeling all day. My students made amazing comments like: “Wow”, “Look at this!” “Oh this moves”, Oh this is so fun!” These were totally unsolicited comments. What are you waiting for? Try it, and see what your students say about it.

Give Yourself the Gift of Time

One thing that I have learned during the pandemic is time is precious. Years ago, when I discovered Articulation Station, I sold all of my time consuming flashcards. Gone were the days of fumbling through card decks to sort targets by positions and phonological process while clients waited impatiently. My laminator gathered dust and my materials budget saw some relief because I was not constantly ordering printer ink, card stock, and laminating sheets. Then, along came Articulation Station Hive to solve for more time consuming problems. Now, my apraxia flashcards are up for sale and the only app I need for articulation, phonological, and apraxia therapy is this one. I use the app religiously in my private practice for discriminating minimal pairs; engaging syllable/ word/ phrase/ sentence/ story level stimuli; recording clients; collecting data; and motor movement practicing via syllable sliders. This new and improved app not only benefits me, but also engages clients of all ages because it’s incredibly interactive. As always, I thank these developers for making my SLP life easier, so I can spend more time practicing content and less time prepping, organizing, setting up, and packing away materials.

Love Little Bee apps!! Big fan!

I am super happy they have come out with another app - Every day I use it I find more areas that they have included….From syllable practice which is fun (spinner or slider) to conversational practice with picture scenes and “would you rather” interactions. I do hope they add more as kids will get bored with the same 20 questions eventually. It definitely feels like a lot of apps rolled into one - I know that $119/year boils down to $10/month but I would love to see a lifetime option as I do not want to be continuously paying for it as I have already paid for their other apps as well. I use other apps and they are a series/pack (meaning they are bundled) and a yearly fee which this one is not. Either way, I am definitely a fan as they have the best artwork and easily connectable graphics for kids.

My Every Day Go To!

I have been an Articulation Station user for a while. I thought the 1st edition was great until I tried the Hive! I work in an elementary setting with a caseload of nearly 60. This app is my go-to! It is my daily life-saver. I am able to target each child’s goals. The child can see what they scored on the last session and they try to outdo the prior score. They love seeing the pictures or words, giving themselves the credit which provides immediate feedback on how their sound production was, they love swiping to the next screen, and then seeing their overall score. If I have more than one child in a group, they try to outscore each other. Instant motivation! When it’s time to do progress notes, I don’t spend hours going through data. I simply open my app, go to the child’s name and I can see all of their data/growth! This app truly saves me HOURS of planning, stressing, writing, and analyzing! Hive is my therapy provider and tracker! A one stop shop in my busy therapy day!
