Cute kids app

I have tried out this game in the past and although it is cute and can be really helpful, I found myself getting quite frustrated with it. I know, it's just a game, however when it's for a child -- I don't think a 23 year old should be getting frustrated with it. Kids Academy definitely made some updates with the app, but I think with a little more work, it could be perfect. The Easy Mazes game is easy, fun and quick. The uppercase letter game is one I had an issue with before, but it seems to be updated and works great. Now, my problem is the rhyming words game... for a dog, they use the word "pup" and for a trophy, they say "cup". A child wouldn't think of cup and pup. Doing the maze is a bit shaky as well because you can't always get the bone to move smoothly through the path. Other than that, I think the game is excellent. There isn't a lot of games and they're pretty quick, but it is a free version, so you really can't complain about that. I did like the graphics - they were simple, yet fun and cute.

Awesome way to teach kids to write their letters!

I recently downloaded this app for my 5 year old who is in Kindergarten. They practice writing their letters a lot in her class and this app has become a great tool to help her succeed in school. This app is really easy to operate. You simply click on the letter tracing tool and it will bring up a picture of a word that starts with the letter, then give them instructions on how to write the letter. The app proceeds to have them practice with dotted lines to trace and the final step is to practice on their own without the dotted lines (there is still an outline of the letter for them to stay within in order to guide their writing). My daughter often uses this app with a stylus which she says makes it easier to trace but you can just use your finger too. I high recommend!

Makes Learning Fun!

This app has vibrant colors and fun music that kids love. Easy to use and super convenient to take with you wherever you go, whether waiting in a doctor's office or having fun in the car. Based on the proven Montessori learning method, Kids Academy develops spelling, writing and reading skills through fascinating games! In this app from Kids Academy, children practice their handwriting skills with fun games and learn their letters by tracing along the dotted lines on the screen of the iPad or iPhone. They also learn words that begin with that letter and learn both upper and lower case. Another fun activity is filling a jar with fireflies when they trace numbers correctly. There are left and right hand modes to accomodate your children and different levels of difficulty. This free version is upgradable with more games and features should you desire to unlock them.

Educational and Fun!

Kids Academy has updated this awesome app and is available for your child now! My daughter absolutely loves this great app. Not only does she learn how to trace her letters she also can learn her alphabet all at the same time. Although she's very good with her ABCs it's still important to have your child practice them every day, especially tracing! This app has beautiful vibrant colors with plenty of lovely voice overs that make the app that much more enjoyable for any child. The letters are easy for them to trace and the satisfaction on their faces when they complete a letter is fun for parents. I especially love when she is able to trace the letter on her own and then write it on a piece of paper because she practiced it on the app. This is a great learning app for any child, and I highly suggest it to anyone who is interested!(I received compensation in exchange for this review, all opinions are my own.)

Amazing little app

Update: Still going strong! I can't believe that these Kids Academy apps have been so wonderful for my toddler. She knows how to wake my iPhone and knows where to go to get the Kids Academy apps. While she is too young to really grasp what is being taught, its still awesome that she is interested in these apps. One day (probably soon) she will understand what's going on. I love Kids Academy and can't wait to see what else they come up with!----original review-----I've been on a downloading spree trying to find some really great learning apps for my almost two year old. Kids Academy has some amazing apps! Granted she is too young for most fo these, but she is having a ball, and I can tell shes learning. She loves the characters which we have seen in previous apps we've downloaded from Kids Academy, so for her its like seeing a friend. My son, who is 10, enjoys sitting with her and playing the games with her. Even though she thinks she is just playing, she really is learning and I love that. Kids Academy has done it again! I received compensation to download and provide my honest opinion on this app. The opinion stated is 100% mine, and not swayed by the fact that I received said compensation.

Excellent learning game!

My Granddaughter has a blast writing her letters and practicing her handwriting skills with fun games and activities. She has a blast tracing dotted lines to learn how to form letters. I like that there are left and right hand modes, 2 levels of difficulty challenges kids. Samantha traces one letter with the dotted lines and then she tried one that has no guiding lines right after. Before she is given the letter she hears the letter name and the picture of something that starts with that letter. She can choose to work on Upper or lower case letters. There are other games like the Alphabet and she has so much interactive fun focused on a specific letter and learning vocabulary words that start with that letter along with fun graphics. She can trace numbers too and when she traces the number correctly she fills up a jar with fire flies. It is really fun and Samantha loves it! Kids are rated with 1, 2 or 3 stars for their performance. The free version can be upgraded to unlock more games and features.

Not Just for Kids Fun

I'm always looking for ways to keep my mom entertained. She has end-stage Alzheimer's Disease, which means she's a toddler in an adult body. When I learned about this app, I couldn't wait to try it out. Mom has limited motor skills and has difficulty comprehending most commands. Because of her limitations I look for apps that will keep her engaged. I look for bright colors, clear graphics, and an upbeat background noise. After downloading this app, I opened it and found the music to be happy. Mom immediately started dancing. She especially liked the sounds of the birds chirping. We started with tracing the numbers, and while this was difficult for her, she liked repeating the commands. The narrator would say "one" and my mom would repeat it. She liked the bees flying around the screen and when I would successfully trace the number, the narrator would say "good job", for which mom repeated. Because I had only the free version, I couldn't advance in the program. The cost of the whole package is $9.99 and I believe would be worth the money if I were using this for a child. Since mom has Alzheimer's, the free version is sufficient for us. I would highly recommend this app as it does have beautifully bright colors, clear graphics, and fun background music. My mom gets excited when I open this app, which makes me excited. Definitely a 5-star rating for this app.

Learning made fun

UPDATED REVIEW >>> This has got to be my daughters favorite app. Now that it is updated it is even better than before. The graphics are bright and fun and there is never an issue with holding my daughters attention. Now that she is older she has been working more on letter tracing and really enjoys all the fun games, she gets so into them she forgets that she is actually learning. It not only helps her learn to write them but helps her recognize words that start with the letter too. ORIGINIAL REVIEW >>>I like that there are 2 levels of difficulty so you can choose which your child needs to start on. She loves all the bright colorful pictures and friendly sounds. She loves the dog and mazes, this app along with the other by this company do such a great job at making learning fun. She has really begun to increase her knowledge on her numbers since that is what we are focusing on 1st. My only complaint is that the free version only allow me to do capital letters, although I am teaching her capital and lowercase.

Great educational app that is fun!

There are three free games on this app - easy mazes, rhyming words and uppercase letters. The mazes are fun and easy. They show a bone laying at a dogs feet and ask the child to drag the bone through the maze to help the dog find his prize. This is very easy for little hands to do. Once the dog finds his prize (drums, a tennis racket) he briefly shows how to use the prize. The rhyming words asks the child to drag a bone to the item that rhymes with the item the dog is thinking about. I feel like this game is one that encourages parent interaction especially with smaller children. When I child picks a wrong item, the bone goes back to the dog. When they choose a correct item, the app shows both items and says the words. The spelling of both words are under the item. The last free game is uppercase letters. This one is fun. I love how they set it up showing an item such as an apple, then instructing the child using dotted lines on how to draw the letter. Once the child successfully does it, they are shown the letter and asked to draw it again the way they were just taught. These games are fun and educational. I recommend this app for all parents whose children fall into this age range.

Awesome!

I am working hard with my three year old and reading and writing, so I have turned to a few apps. The Kids Academy is one that has really stuck not just because I like but also because my daughter is really enjoying it!I let her play for an hour in the morning and then an hour before bed! But in between that time frame she is nagging me to let her play it! What I am really impressed with is that she is having so much fun learning how to write her letters that she is writing them on paper also! Which is great for a 3 year old! (She will be 4 in November!). Anyway she is working very hard on learning all the letters and my goal is to have her writing them before she starts school! I believe with Kids Academy on my side I can do just that! There is a ton of fun learning activities. They are just at the right level for my daughter also! Which is really awesome! My oldest has included my youngest on this and they love laying in their room playing and having fun! I am always hearing giggles - Thanks to this amazing app!I would say for any mother or father maybe even grandparents that are wanting to get those brains working then you need to check this out for your little ones!
