Quick, Timely, Accurate

This app is great. I check it every morning to see when it’s safe to venture outside without a mask. Living in an area of Northern California that’s so close to the many fires, most of us are checking the AQI multiple times daily. Although it’s pretty obvious that the air is bad because the sky’s grey or there’s ash everywhere, or it smells smoky, there are also the deceptive days with bad AQI even though everything looks and smells just fine.

Great App - A few bugs

I like the new favorites display and I’m very happy to see all previous features intact. I have depended on this app quite a bit during this especially bad wildfire season in California, and have recommended it to many friends that also love it. I’m disappointed, however, that it will not maintain settings. I keep toggling for it to open up to the current location, and when I reopen that is turned off again. I’m currently in Texas and it wants to open up to my last location in California. I have to use the map to search for a nearby station and then set that as a favorite so that I can look at it.

So helpful

This app is great because it’s easy to use and accurate. I started using this app last year to keep track of the air quality do to all the smoke from the fires. I live in California and this year the fires are much closer. I click on app and I get current air quality conditions close to home not the average for an area which is also available. Numbers can differ immensely in the foothills in short distances, so I want to know what I am dealing with verses someone else conditions a mile away.

Essential app for California

I consult this daily to check on air quality so that I know when to wear a pollution mask and when to keep doors and windows closed. It’s also helpful so I know when walks need to be short for my dogs and the air purifier kept on all day even when the air doesn’t smell of smoke. It’s more specific than the government warnings-as you can look up areas of your town.

Widget Config Issues (Updated)

Updated - The team fixed this issue and it is working great now. Very worth the purchase with the widget functional for my region! (Would love if the widget showed the actual aqi number not just the color, hence the four stars.)I like this app a lot, so much so I actually paid for the subscription to be able to use the widget. However, I am entirely unable to get the widget to configure correctly for my location (despite all the restarts/re-installation of the app). If you’re going to guard a feature as paid, it should work.

AirCare provides an essential service at no cost to the user.

Given the increasing number of wildfires here in the west, having easy-to-access, current, site specific information on air quality wherever I am or plan to go is essential to my health. AirCare provides that information, as well as showing me where fires are. For world travelers, air quality information for many other countries is also available. Making this information available at no cost means that everyone, regardless of income, has access to it. Thank you AirCare!

Updated information not always available

Several locations have not updated their information. The one I was trying to use, CA Jackson - Stoney Creek, was showing information from February instead of today (April 2, 2021). Also, when trying to find a location, the program will not allow you to type in the complete name of a location. It anticipates the wrong place and won’t allow more letters to be added to the search. You should be able to continue typing the name before the program takes over.

Great Application for Air Quality

Read the monitors in my area throughout the day since I had a lung illness years ago and have to be careful when outside especially now with fires and smoke in Central California to plan my day whether I can venture out or not. The news channels give a general forecast but with this great program can look exactly where you live. With Covid-19 and smoke combined makes this young 76 year old 😀having local monitors has been a great to have to protect me so I can still have a good quality of life during these crazy times. Thank you

Essential app for fire areas

I live downwind of a large fire 12 miles away. There were days when it was “raining “ ashes and the smoke was terrible at times. I used this app several times a day to monitor air quality. I am lucky because the monitoring station is one street over so it is very accurate. I also like the Favorites feature. I keep tabs on the air quality for my family in Santa Rosa and Napa Valley. Now the smoke is gone but I still check our air quality daily.

More accurate then the government

This gives you a more accurate reading of the air your breathe then the government site. In my area it is 30 miles away and when AirCare read unhealthy in my area the government site said it was moderate. I have high risk people breathing the air in here. I can’t afford to open windows when the air is unhealthy! Saving up to buy my own sensor so I can assist others.
