No AU in Cubasis or Garageband

After installing and trying the standalone app, I was excited to record a track into Cubasis. Since the description of the app specifically said it works with Cubasis as an AU, I thought this was a no brainer. Go into Cubasis, try to add the AU...and it’s not in the AU list. So, let’s try GarageBand. Go to External...add Audio Unit extensions...no Objeq in that AU list either. So AAS while I love you...it looks like you messed up on the AU implementation. Also, I’ve tried adding as an audio effecct in both Cubasis and Garage Band. It doesn’t show up under Insert Effect in Cubasis or under Plugins & EQ in Garage Band.

Awesome

Very fun app! I hope they add a way to combine some of the sounds. Being able to designate the right hand as a bass drum and a left hand as a snare would be sweet. Worth the money for sure!

A brilliant effect, with some caveats

First off I want to say that this is a brilliant idea. Secondly I want to clarify what it is and what it isn’t. It is an audio effect, so it takes the audio coming in, and applies filters to it to make it resonate in cool ways. What it isn’t: it isn’t a VSTi that generates sounds that are triggered by vibration. There are some serious limitations. The main problem is feedback. Because of the feedback problem you can not process live mic input AND listen to it on speakers at the same time. If you use live mic input then you MUST use headphones to listen. Or if you want to hear the output on speakers then you can not use a live mic as input.

Completely inaccessible with VoiceOver

I am a blind musician and audio engineer. Our use many iOS applications with quite a bit of success. However, objeq is completely inaccessible with voiceover. Nothing at all is spoken. The only way I can use it is the turn voiceover off, and just drag up and down at different portions of the screen, without really knowing what I am adjusting. I hope that this can be fixed.

Latency is an issue

I just bought this, tried it for hand drumming on a 1st gen IPad Pro, and there’s very significant latency. I haven’t tried it yet as an effect, hopefully that won’t have any latency problems.

Absolutely Fantastic

I bought this and within 20 minutes I was finger drumming on my tabletop making the coolest sounds thru my iPads mic. After that, I used Audiobus with my own app GeoShred and some drum loops as a source to achieve awesome results! So great to see AAS enter the app space. The music fun on iOS just keeps getting better!Anybody who loves making music needs an iPad (and this cool app!)Jordan Rudess/Wizdom Music- Dream Theater

Simply Awesome

Awesome app that sounds great and easy to navigate. You can use it as an effect on an instrument you play to further modulate it’s sound; great with hand percussion, providing lots of sonic textures to explore.

AAS Yaaaas!

I'm unbelievably excited to see an iPad offering from Applied Acoustic Systems. I've been using their desktop products for almost 10 years and they continue to be among my favorite developers around.Objeq appears to incorporate some of the technology behind Chromaphone, their resonant/pm synth - my favorite product of theirs. It produces a wide variety of percussive sounds/forms and implements them in an intuitive and inspiring mobile format.I am so pleased by the AU insert functionality - the stuff of my dreams.Hoping to see more from these fine folks. Cheers AAS!

Latency

Running a new iPad Pro, even with a restart, no WiFi, bluetooth or any other apps running, there is latency which essentially renders the app useless. If they fix that issue then it’ll be great though

An instant purchase

It’s really great to see Applied Acoustics Systems emerge in the iOS music audio app scene. I own every AAS Physically Modeled VST instrument, and they are all amazing works of art. I’m very excited to start experimenting with Objeq iOS in my current projects.
