We spoke with the team behind the Marlie app to learn about their experience migrating from RevenueCat to Qonversion.
Company Overview
Focused initially on offering corporate health checkups, wellabe identified a significant trend during these sessions: many individuals struggled with emotional eating. This insight led to the development of Marlie, a B2C app specifically targeting emotional eating. Marlie supports users in acute emotional eating moments with scientifically backed strategies, exercises, and knowledge for long-term behavior change. The offer includes structured daily reflection to identify triggers and manage cravings.

The Challenge
Transitioning from a B2B model to a B2C app required a robust and easy-to-implement solution that could handle both Google and Apple store billing options with minimal maintenance.
Initially, they were using RevenueCat for Marlie, which was the only viable option with the no-code tool they were using. However, the limited analytics and insufficient data accessibility hindered them from fully understanding their users’ behavior and needs. Additionally, RevenueCat’s location in the US posed compliance challenges.
Discovering Qonversion
Through online research, wellabe discovered Qonversion. After a call with Qonversion's team, they noted excellent customer service and comprehensive documentation. Together with the developers, wellabe decided to migrate the Marlie app from RevenueCat to Qonversion.
The Migration Process
The developers at wellabe conducted a short proof of concept to ensure Qonversion matched their needs. The primary challenge was understanding the data transfer process and ensuring that subscription data transfers are correct, and timely, and users can seamlessly access their app.
They carefully reviewed the documentation and started the migration with a phased approach, consecutively implementing Qonversion features for iOS and Android.

Overcoming Challenges
The support from Qonversion was instrumental in overcoming these challenges. The dedicated Slack channel provided quick feedback and continuous support, enabling wellabe to address issues promptly. Aurelia, Product Management Lead at Marlie, shared,

"The support that you offered was a huge help to get quick solutions. Also, a direct contact by Slack is something we haven't experienced anywhere else."
Results and Future Plans
Post-migration, Marlie has seen a noticeable boost in operational efficiency and gained better flexibility in their offerings. They now offer more pricing options and can tailor their offerings based on where the user is coming from. Plus, thanks to Qonversion's pricing structure, wellabe has managed to cut some costs—always a welcome bonus.

Looking ahead, the team behind Marlie is excited to expand their use of Qonversion. They are particularly interested in exploring A/B testing – a must-have tool for any app developer looking to fine-tune their product.
