Pretty alright

I like all of the things it is possible to do on this app, makes it easy to make a pretty good quality video right on your phone. That said, at least for me, the app crashes a LOT. Doesn’t matter how much I try to trim my clips down before uploading them to the app, it always seems to get overwhelmed. This happens especially when I’m trying to add transitions or effects. For this reason, I wish there was a button in the project to save progress. By exiting all the way out of the project back to selecting clips it default saves, but this is a roundabout way of saving and I wish it was easier. Also, lately it has been replacing a couple of clips with another existing clip and there’s seemingly no way to get it to stop, even if I delete the clips and re-upload them.

Very underwhelming…especially for the price.

Admittedly I didn’t intend to purchase the full version of this app, but I exceeded my free trial and was charged so I had to stick with it. Though there are a decent amount of filters and emulations etc, I do find the app to be slightly glitchy and editing is not as seem less an experience as I’ve had on other apps like VN and the like. For example, when trying to cut multiple video clips together and rearrange them I’m unable to hear the audio until I press the check mark and then press play to hear the sound with the video. Now, maybe there’s a method to it, but I haven’t figured it out. I feel like you can achieve unique looks by combining filters, but there’s not enough control over them. They can look a little gimmicky. Also, the title options are pretty basic in my opinion. Especially for the price paid. I’ve created little snippet videos and they’ve been okay, but certainly not to where I can justify my accidental purchase. The addition of being able to add music is a nice one, but again, there are other very capable apps that have the same option. I don’t want to be too negative about this app as I can see that it has good aspects to it for many people…just not for me. Plain and simple, I don’t really look forward to using the app and only do so because I had to pay for it. I’d like to somehow receive a refund and will try to inquire if that is possible.

Good but glitchy

I want to love this so so much - but I’ve had issues with the entire app glitching out when adding video effects since the holidays. Customer support was responsive at first but they never got back to me with a resolution and it’s been three months. I’ll keep trying because I do love the concepts - but right now I’m a bit bummed that I can’t finish any of my projects.Update:I reached out to the developer over the holidays and never received a response after I tried the solutions they offered which didn’t work. I was told again to reach out to the developer a few weeks ago when I tried to get an update on my case, I did and never received an answer. Then I was just asked to contact the developer again today - I’ll try again but I’m kinda bummed because I’m being sent in circles.

Lots of bugs

I’ve been using this app for over a year now and it’s my main video editing app outside of IG and Tik Tok. I really like the layout and how easy it is to navigate. I do not like how often it won’t save my videos for no parent reason, every so often it just stops playing mid video and won’t play the rest even though it’s there, it stops at one of the breaks and then you always get the error when trying to save the video as a whole or as stories. Customer service response are lacking, quite unhelpful and usually take days to “resolve” although I’ve contacted them multiple times, I’ve often just figured it out a few days later. I’ve enjoyed this app but I’m tired of the problems it has and they haven’t been resolved after multiple updates.

So powerful! So fun!

Thanks for making such a fun little tool. I have been editing videos on desktop and it’s such a hassle to upload everything from my phone and then quite honestly, the editing is so finicky and takes a ton of time. I’m not a professional or an influencer, just a gal who loves savoring the memz! The one usability feedback I have is that the banner on the bottom that has Clips, Filmm, Adjust etc feels like it should be stationary or at least easier to get to. Maybe you could swipe it up? Once you click on say Filmm, the back buttons takes you to crop of clips, and the forward can take you to publish the video not adjust. It’s hard to find the “home” of where everything is. Other than that, I am really impressed with how much control you get over editing and to do everything on a tiny screen. Good job on them hot spots!

Needs A Few Tweaks But Otherwise Good

This app is useful and my go-to for mobile vid editing. However the edit clips feature where I’m trying to trim is a bit cumbersome. You will have a hard time catching the exact spot to cut; the devs should make the interface bigger when you’re doing that so you can zoom with more precision to the spot you want to clip. As well, the text feature should have a way to fade it in and out and not have it appear in the entire video. Maybe idk how to do that, but if I put text in it seems to be there for the whole vid and not just a select spot or select duration.Otherwise though, a solid app w good effects and filters.

I want to Filmm everything!!!

First day and already I love it! I like the option to quick switch between filters and effects beses on a circle or diamond. The ability to stack and layer edits is so amazing for photos and video. I can’t wait for the option to edit specific layers. The option to import/export from A Color Story would be very beneficial. Also, the option to “continue previous edit” in case you close the app and decide to resume later would be amazing. The colors and filters are beautiful, so much so that I plan on using this app for all of my media; for IG especially; stories and posts alike! Thank you for creating this app. The creative possibilities are endless!! I look forward to future updates and add-ons. I recommend to everyone.

Almost daily use!

Hey there, I love this handy little app. I use it almost daily when I’m at work as a social media manager. I’ve had the app for probably over a year now and the filters keep getting better + more artistic. Makes me feel super cool bc it’s easy to use and looks better than I could make any videos on my own. I loved when they added the transitions bc my videos were a bit jumpy from one to the next so I like feeling pro, without the hassle of editing on a computer. Love love love that it comes with music options. Really hoping there will be more and more songs added in the future! Overall, one of my favorite apps on my phone.

BEST video editing app...

Edit July 13, 2019 - So, I’m in love with the new Music feature! It was exactly what I was looking for and I love all the choices. The one thing that REALLY irritates me is; if you are using the camera IN the app, you better make sure no one calls you and you have all your alarms off. If someone calls me, my alarm goes off, or I accidentally hit Siri it not only stops your recording but DELETES EVERYTHING you just recorded. I’ve lost so much footage this way - I like to use the camera in the app instead of the iPhone one because it zooms out further. I have to text people telling them not to call if I’m about to make a video. If it stops the recording it should still have what you’ve done so far instead of erasing everything. Original Review - That I’ve played around with, to this date. With the endless choices of filters and effects you can get as creative as you’d like! It’s simple to use but still has advanced tools for editing the colour and tone of your video. The option to save as a single video or as stories makes it easy for you to upload on any platform. The only thing that I wish was included would be a feature to add music. You can do so in IG but if your video is split into multiple stories it’s difficult to get the music to flow right. This is a hard thing to get the rights for though, so I understand why it’s not an option.

ughhhh

I’ve written a lengthy review about this app before regarding extreme annoyances, and I keep having to take stars away. I’ve stopped heavy use of this app since the last issues a few months back so I’m unsure if those issues still exist, but as I’ve picked up my usage, I don’t see THOSE issues. There is however a superb new annoying bug that I’m ultimately confused as to how it even happens. When I import specific clips, it appears to play the audio pitched down a few semitones. Actually, it’s almost as if the video is playing in a slower motion and yet it only happens to be this way on the very the clips I need to utilize. Sometimes I feel like someone is personally out to get me on this app, lol. It’s little bugs like that in which break the charm of an otherwise great app with great features. This may be a very specific issue. I’m on a 256GB iPhone 11 Pro. All I know is, I severely hope it gets fixed. One day this app will stop making me emit big sighs.
