Loved it so much I played it twice back to back

It’s a tad short but it’s awesome. A true Metroidvania with excellent weapons. It’s a joy to fry a flock of enemies with the flamethrower and scoop up what remains to upgrade your weapons. And you’re always upgrading something in a fulfilling way; not like some games where you labor forever to get a nothing upgrade. I found two weird things; an area that I couldn’t cross ( possible expansion pack area?) and the complete lack of recycling stations on later areas. Despite these complaints, it’s a five star game for any Metroidvania fan

Its very fun

I started playing yesterday and the game is very fun. There’s this one part of a level that I can’t pass. But besides that it’s a very fun game and it has the potential to be one of my top 3 favorite games.

Unbeatable indie title

This game came out of nowhere end has ended up being one of my favorites this year. I beat it on the Switch, but it still plays well on ios. Catchy music, solid gameplay mechanics, and hilarious writing make for an unforgettable ten or so hours—considerably more if you go after the achievements. The shooter action is fast and frenetic, but Metroidvania elements (ability gating and a leveling system) balance things out nicely.The references are also noteworthy. Blade Runner, Cave Story, Super Metroid, Terminator... deftly handled and in some cases laugh out loud funny. I decided to download it cuz what the heck the name stood out... ten minutes later I was also downloading it on my Switch. Would love to see more games like this.

Needs work

Please update. The controls for menus should be touch controls, not having to move a stick up and down and a separate button to hit enter. It evens says things like Z and X so this game isn’t quite ready. The joystick should be floating and bigger. The jet pack should be its own button, not part of the joystick.

Great game!

Controls take some getting used to but this is a fun game. Sort of a Metroidvania crossed with lunar lander.But please, make the menus controlled directly by touch!

Could be so amazing if it had controller support!

This game is clearly made with love. It is fantastic, but how does this game not have controller support!? (would open up the audience for this game significantly)

Description

Willy Jetman: Astromonkey's Revenge is an arcade shooter full to the brim with action and shooting, inspired by the console classics of the 90s. In the orbit of the planet Gravos there has been a terrible accident that has caused an environmental disaster, filling the planet with space garbage.
