Happy 10th Anniversary Trism & AppStore

This game’s good even though I just started. I’m surprised it’s got the same menu buttons and the same old-version look as the iPod Touch, and it still works. The first app Game I ever got was Bejeweled 2, which is no longer available (Bejeweled Classic is still there); I had no idea about this game, and the fact that it was one of the first to be sold from the AppStore when it first opened back in 2008 (I found that out when its sequel came out after 10 years).

Very addicting and very fun game

Back in 2009 when Apple featured this game during the iOS 3.0 keynote, I immediately downloaded it and played it incessantly for the better part of that year. Well as the years went on, I found other games and played them, almost forgetting about this one. Well fast forward to 2022 and I randomly wondered if this game was still on the App Store and behold, it was. I downloaded it and rediscovered how much fun it is. It is definitely a throwback to the early days of iOS. The interface elements look more like iOS 1.0-6.x than what was started in 7.0. However, it is still good. If I had to make any complaints, it would be the game doesn’t scale very well to the screens on newer iPhones. It was great on my iPhone 3G back in 2009 but on my iPhone 12 Pro in 2022, it is not exactly optimized. However, it is still playable and very fun.

Simple to learn, hard to master. Amazing game!

Trism is such a classic. The rules are simple but the gameplay is complex. That’s what makes Trism so great. It’s as simple and fun as bejeweled, but has depth that I haven’t seen in any other games like this.I first played Trism when it came out 10+ years ago and recently downloaded it again. What a treat it is to go back to a game with fun core gameplay, no ads, and no in game purchases/currency. I’m pleased that the game still runs on my iPhone XS Max. However time has not treated this game well. It looks very aged. The game won’t run in a resolution native to modern iPhones. The in game menus and alerts are from a different iOS era. Some controls don’t work properly, like the level select scroll list component doesn’t render the text for the selected level. But I’m still giving this game 5 starts because that doesn’t detract from the gameplay.I tried Trism 2, and it’s a great game in its own right. But it doesn’t have me coming back to it again and again like the first Trism. What I’d rather see is a quality of life update for this Trism instead of a new Trism. Overall it’s a great game. I recommended it for everybody.

Excellent

I don’t know why this is so relaxing. It also reminds me a little of life. Sometimes you get screwed and feel stuck but persist and you’ll find a way out. Things change. You defuse bombs. I think it may need to update for the new iOS but even so, it’s my favorite game to play to unwind or after stressful situations.

Stopped working Oct. 2019

Trism was the first game I downloaded back when the App store was very new. A few months ago I saw it was still available. I’ve been playing it again and it worked fine for a while, but now there’s a bug. When you press on a tile the whole row turns black. Developers, could you please fix this? It’s a great game and I’d love to get back to playing it.

Loved from the beginning

This was the very first game I downloaded years ago when it came out. I hope it will always be there because it takes skill to keep the points going!

As long as as I can play…

I most certainly will keep this on my phone and play it until it no longer works on iOS. That indeed will be a sad day but it amazes me to see how I always come back to this game that never fails to be in my top favorites. If there is a way to keep this game going as a public service, WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING, I would certainly donate money to that effort!

Awesome game

I love this game. No ads, no currency, just the game. I play almost everyday without having to turn off my wifi. There are a few minor problems that can all be spotted by playing the game for 10 minutes (only like 3 problems) and those problems are easy fixes. Sometimes the triangles animations are moved out of place while moving rows. The numbers on bomb triangles will move way off. I forget the other thing, but now I have a suggestion to improve the game. The tilting feature is nice, but I think it should be automatic, but not make 3 or more triangles touch each other which would detonate a bomb if there is a bomb in play. If this is not something that will be done, I suggest that you instead give players an option to swipe the tilt icon to the direction that you would like the triangles to fall, not just keep track of the devices tilting. I want to be able to play this game without actually moving, like when playing in bed or while watching tv. I shouldn't have to constantly flip my device around just to keep bombs from detonating. Also, having the blinking colors that show the color of a triangles that you can't see is pointless and would be better if it simply stays that color.Keep up the great work

Happy Trism Player

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the latest bug fixes, especially the one that prevented the Trism strips from being visible, which really affected play. I have been playing this game for years and was very sad when the game didn’t play correctly. So now I am a happy camper and would recommend this game, especially to people who like to compete against themselves to obtain their highest score. 😁

I’ve had this game since 2008

It’s followed me thru many iPods and iPhones and, idk, I’m still surprised it plays just as well as it ever did. I’ve never tried Trism II and probably never will but this one is just a classic to me. I’m not much for games on my iPhone, it’s really just this one. I like how it doesn’t time you unless you want that, and that it can go on forever and forced you to really analyze the board before making a move when you’re into infinity level so your game can continue.
