Terrible

All the reviews are correct, maybe this app is dead and all those with TomTom devices are left with a useless device. My old original TomTom worked great for years and displayed real time traffic conditions all by itself! Now, With a newer TomTom, you have to download a cumbersome app and connect your phone to the device via Bluetooth just to get traffic. The Bluetooth connection never works! And the app suggests, in case of connectivity issues to use your cell phone hotspot!! The whole reason for me using a TomTom on long trips was to NOT use my phone/data/battery. So what’s the point of the TomTom when it requires an additional phone navigation app to work properly! (And then doesn’t!!) Definitely not an improvement and a waste of money.

Great device, obnoxious app

I love my new go 40s device, and like the traffic feature through my iPhone, but each and every time I start my car, the app asks if it can connect. You get 2 choices. Ignore, but I presume I won't get traffic. The other selection is connect, which launches this app. I just want to connect, but no launching of the app. There's no setting that I see to do that. Oh, if you don't select either, and just drive, you get connected. Okay, I could just always never do anything, but I'm usually wanting to do something - one last SMS - before I start to drive.2018 November update:I use my Tomtom all of the time, but have given up getting real traffic updates or sending my destination from my iPhone because it never works. It is still amazing to me that when I start my car, the app breaks into whatever I am doing to ask if I want to connect. I want it to **always** connect without fail, but there’s no setting anywhere that says always connect. My old radio-based-traffic Tomtom never asked, and somehow it figured out that there was traffic ahead. As for transferring my address from my iPhone, my Tomtom address entering interface is so slow and nonsensical (It should guess that I’m looking for an address at least in a 50 or 100 km radius instead of suggesting the first item in Colorado when I’m in Los Angeles) that it makes the lack of being able to send an address from my iPhone all the more painful.

Do not buy!!

After using a TomTom 550 XXL for almost 8 years, I was excited to try the Trucker 620. Unfortunately, it seems as though TomTom went out of their way to make this unit super complicated and frustrating to use. Why would you force people to use an app in conjunction with your gps? I could have just used the phone and saved $300. I am, apparently going to have to hook the 620 up to my computer to import a list of poi’s as I haven’t been able to find any trucking poi’s on my new trucker gps. These gps’s should be able to be used “out of the box” as most will be purchased on the road at truck stops. How sad. TomTom really missed the mark with this gps and app combo. How about a stand alone gps so that I don’t get a ticket Messing with my phone trying to get it to hook up to the gps. As a gps, the Trucker 620 makes a spectacular paper weight.

Ok if you are using only this to navigate.

If you are only using this to navigate? It’s ok once you get past that you usiallhave to search twice to get to the route screen. Most of the time searching will get the destination on the drop down, but when tapping on the destination? It usually gets you back to a blank search again. Second time works flawlessly. My experience working in conjunction with my Go Supreme? Might as well just get the destination sent to it. Planning a route is worthless on the app when it only sends the destination. Being that they do not update this app too often; I will put connectivity issues on the phone updates. I will get a month of it staying connected only to find it a hassle at times to just get it connected. Otherwise a good research tool. Not the best, but which one is?11 oct 22 updateI assume the app is not ready for iOS 16?Or is it just getting worse. I now get the my new phone paired to the supreme but the app will not recognize it? Cannot even use it as a navigation tool now. Still wants me to pair the phone to my navigation device! It IS paired!I have owned 5-6 TomTom devices. They used to be good. No Mr/Mrs developer; I do not want a link to your support website. Tired of trying to find solutions on your site.

TomTom go stoped working with iPhone 7plus

For some reason my TomTom and IPhone don’t like each other now after several years of no problems my gps won’t connect with the my drive app it says they are not compatible .Not a happy camper I need this feature as I doHVAC work and don’t need to be sitting in traffic looks like I might need a new gps , tried resetting everything with no progress , not sure about TomTom the last one I had the screen went out in 2 years, had this one about the same length of time now it’s just a fancy paper weightUPDATE After spending over 45 minutes with customer support trying to get this problem figured out there was absolutely no success, was told that they were working on it and maybe in about a month there was a new update that may fix the problem. To me this unit is junk , won’t buy another tomtom , my gps was bought in 2016. You would think they would last longer than that, he also told me that this was a on going problem. But with the billions of dollars this place makes you might think they would recall this unit and give you one that works or even sell you one at a discounted price. And that answer is NO. Headed out to buy another gps( not tomtom )..!Last update Just bought a GARMIN gps and got rid of all my problems, have a nice life tomtom , never again will I buy any of your products

Embarrassing

I have a Tom Tom go600 that I wanted to use.Bought it 4 years ago and I remember why I chose to use my garmin instead. This app is out right embarrassing. It appears to pair with my iPhone 8plus but can’t fully connect to the app. I restarted the iPhone and the TomTom device also and still does not connect. What an embarrassing Product in this technology age. No wonder why Most people use garmin instead. I’m an Uber driver in nyc so I exclusively use Waze and google. But always like to have a backup to use so I use my Garmin for backup. I was considering buying the new tomtom 620, but now I’m having doubts. Might just stick with the Garmin since it’s a lot more reliable. But this issue is just outright Embarrassing. And I also remember that this device didn’t allow you to search for intersections. What a joke. I wish I didn’t give 1 star. That’s to much. I dont think I ever gave any product a 1 Star.

What happened?

I used this app for years with my IPhone 6s Plus, and it worked great. Never had any issues. I since upgraded my phone to the IPhone X and now my phone (with the app and Bluetooth on) won’t connect to the GPS at all. This is either the GPS software or the app software. Either way can you please fix this issue? People depend on your product to work as advertised.Update: So I really never rate apps or do reviews but I was a little unfair when I rated this’s app a 1 star. Since writing the previous review, I uninstalled the app, and removed it from Bluetooth on my IPhone X. I then removed the software from my GPS on the MyDrive website. I reinstalled both and reconnected the GPS to my phone via Bluetooth and everything is working great now. If you’re having issues try this, it worked for me.

Cannot get any resolve from Tom Tom or Apple

I had the iPhone 7. I also have a work phone that is a iPhone 6. I have to use the MyDrive app to get traffic updates. On both phones was working fine. Until it stopped working on the iPhone 7 Plus. Figuratively it is a software compatibility. The iPhone 6 continues to operate with the GPS. But the problem is that the phone belongs to my job. I need the GPS to be working at full capacity because I use it for work. Because it is a trucker GPS. When I go on vacation I needed to work on my personal phone. I need a solution on why it will not work on a iPhone 7 or iPhone X which I upgraded to. I tried support can’t get a direct telephone number to figure this problem out. This problem has to be fixed. The GPS cost me almost $300 that’s a lot of money. Not to have it work at full capacity. I’ll be doing research on different GPS. I believe this will be my last tom-tom I won’t buy another one.

IT WORKS NOW!!! Live traffic!

I have the GO 500 and the TomTom app never work with the iPhone bluetooth connection. It acted like a basic gps, no traffic. I have been using it without traffic because I love the navigation display and routes. I even purchased a new device because I wanted the live traffic, and still had the same problem. So I returned it. I have been waiting for this app to be worked on for the iPhone for a very long time. I noticed a new update with a new look on the icon app. I said to myself, this might be the one. And sure enough, IT WORKS NOW!!! I have live traffic!!! Great job TomTom with the update! I’m so glad I kept the old device. My confidence is back with this product. Thanks again! 👍🏼Update!: App still needs work. Traffic still works. However... Try to send a location on the app to the device and it just buffers. When I arrived to my location, it finally sent it to the device causing it to reboot. I open the app and it was still buffering. Had to shut my phone off to reset app. Noticed on the app that some fonts are dark grey on black background. Very hard to read. Very bad on (My Places). You can’t see it at all.Update again: Updated to IOS 14.4. The dark grey on black background is fixed now to black font on white. Traffic is not working now. I keep getting (Unable to connect to TomTom My Drive). 😞

Always asks to “Allow” to connect constantly

After the new iOS came out this thing constantly asks to connect as other reviews are stating. I’ve done everything. Even let them check my logs and no fix. I had the 6plus when the new iOS came out and it started doing this. Then when I upgraded to the iPhone X it still does the same exact thing. It’s clearly a bug in their software and they refuse to fix it. Dangerous for drivers to keep on having to press that all day long. And we’re all telling you the same problem! Stop replying to call you as if it’s a one person incident! Update this thing already! Law suit waiting to happenUPDATE to developer response. I clearly said I let y’all check my logs so obviously I’ve contacted y’all. This is the type of responses to the ppl complaining, like y’all think it’s just gonna go away
