Unhappy with my purchase

after I bought this app I discovered that it has a lot of very serious bugs. For one thing, it gives you 10 bags on solo games. It should be only five bags. Also, you can tell that the robots are not playing the way real players would play. they do not throw out the cards that people do it real games. So you are not getting accurate practice. Hopefully the developer Will correct these issues and in the meantime I suggest you do not purchase this app.

Shrunken spades

I don't like updating my games because when I do it screws up something one way or another. Well I updated my spades game, big mistake, all of the fonts and screens have shrunk to at least half the size they used to be. This used to be my favorite game. I even endured the commercials that I got from the last update I did. But this, the game is so small that you pick the wrong cards and make mistakes all the time. You can't go back and do a do over so you end up losing a lot of your games. Please fix this problem! But even if you do I'll be really leery of trusting the next update

Mostly love it

Love the variety of card games! Two issues I ran into: first, the game stops working when asked to leave a review. I have to delete and reinstall for it to work. Second, it starts slowing down significantly after a while. Same fix of having to delete and reinstall. Hope this gets solved soon!

Why did they completely redo the game?

This new version, and technically new game is just terrible. I played simple Spades because it was just SIMPLE. Now, they added a whole new look and feel, but it’s much worse. Here’s why: The game is absolutely slower, the cards being thrown out, selecting bids, and going to the next hand. The game is over animated: why? I can’t even stand to look at the characters because they look like cartoons. I can’t select who I want to play against: In the old game, I could select the players in the game. Thats now gone. They were also based on difficulty. Honestly, I had better games versus a medium and hard difficulty than two hard opponents. They right combination of conservative and aggressive. I played this game all the time. It was my time away from bs life for a few minutes. Now, that is gone because to play this new game, I’ve got to spend an hour waiting for how slow it is, and get upset about how stupid this update was. At least make the old version available for download. Thanks.

I ALREADY PAID!!

I bought this app and have enjoyed it IMMENSELY!! Last week the app stopped responding. It would open and immediately close. It did this for 2 days before I did a reboot by deleting it and reinstalling it all under my same Apple ID. Now, I’ve got 30 second ads playing between each game or hand!! I’VE ALREADY PAID TO REMOVE THE ADS!!! FIX THIS!!Update:App support was very responsive to my email! Once I emailed them proof of purchase, I was up and running again in no time! Thanks!!

Cards

This game is fun, I love bid whist I’m a card player. Why does it keep asking you to rate the app (game) then it’s stuck on when you try to rate. It won’t let you do anything. I have to turn my phone off and back on to play the game. I’m thinking I can play, once it’s back on. You are asked to rate the app and it’s stuck again. I give up. Please fix this problemRight now it let me rate but not back to the game SMH

Disappointed

I, too, like the others have been playing this game for a while. I was forced to upgrade and was truly disappointed with the new interface, game play and options menu. You used to be able to change everything off the main menu, now you have to go to a separate menu to change game play. I concur with the other gamers that note the players have become stupid. Who bids zero with the ace of spades in their hands. Also, I witnessed the opponents make counter productive moves against each other. I have gotten really frustrated with the game where I am going to uninstall it and try another spades game.

30 second ads between hands???

Spades is supposed to be a decently paced game. Having an ad in between every hand, especially when those ads are as long as 30 seconds, takes the fun out of the game. Also, your scoring system is off. There was a hand where I bid 5 and my partner bid 5. I got 4 and my partner got 6. We made our total of ten, but we also got a bag in the hand. That isn’t right. One last thing... the AI is terrible. If I bid nil, the AI will lead low cards after they took a trick of the same suit wasting a high card. For example, 2C is lead, I play 6C, then 5C is played, and my partner plays the AC. Partner then leads 3C. What the ???

What happened?

I used to play this game all the time. It was quick and the AI was pretty good. You could fool it from time to time but all in all it felt similar to how friends play. Now the AI is incredibly frustrating. It’s gone the complete opposite and seems like they are willing to take sets just to load bags on you. And the new point system is TERRIBLE. I’ve been playing Spades for 20 years and have played all kinds of crazy house rules... never once have I played with anyone that counted bags by individual team member. If my team bids seven and takes seven we shouldn’t be penalized just because I took one less and my partner took one more than our bids. That’s a big part of the game...working together to make your bid. All that system does is add more bags in to the game and drags them out. And for some reason nil bids are only worth 50 now? What’s the point? Might as well just bid the one in your hand than try and dump it because the risk-reward just isn’t there. Bummer to lose a game I’ve been enjoying playing for years

Simple Spades has missed the mark with this update

I normally don’t write reviews for apps because I usually feel like people can make up their own minds without reading what I have to say, but on this app I felt like I needed to break my own rule. I have been a long time user of the older version of this spades game. I actually held off upgrading my IOS version when I got a message that this older version would not run on v11 of IOS. But alas a new cell phone forced me to the new version of both. I must say this version of the game misses the mark badly. They took away the ability to “pick” your level of opponent hence you lose the ability of choosing the AI personality to play against. This new version I have found on both hard and hardest level they AI spends so much time trying to give you bags it rarely makes it own bid. I have played at least a dozen games so far and I have yet to see my opponent with a positive score. Then speaking of scoring. They have changed the scoring or bags taking away the idea of “team” and making even your partner play low to not get bags even if you bid nil. Of which the old version game you a 100 points for and this one gives you 50 with no way to set it how you want. Overall I used to play this game for stress relief now I find myself more stressed after trying to play it. My advice, pass this version up. I feel robbed having paid again for this update just to have the ads removed.
