Post Apocalyptic Adventure

Definitely one of the darker games I’ve played recently. Technobabylon is still my favorite (along with Whispers of a Machine), but I enjoyed it. As one reviewer pointed out, it definitely reminds you of the current COVID-19 situation, but also very much different. I enjoyed Amy Wellard’s story and the environment in which she is placed in. One of my complaints, although I won’t take a star off, is that sometimes it felt like the Examine vs Touch an object was too similar or lazy writing. Sometimes they’re both the same. This is the first point and click I’ve felt this way with. Puzzles are easy (there’s a somewhat difficult one near the beginning) and story is easy to understand. The voice acting is superb. Overall, an enjoyable game, but there isn’t any special features besides point and click; you’d know what I’m talking about if you’ve played the above mentioned games.

Excellent Story

The most important part of a game to me is the story. I was hooked on the story from the beginning and it was exciting to uncover more and more of the story's mystery. The gameplay is fun and the puzzles are challenging but doable. Great game.

Best in the Genre

You can’t do much better than this in the point-and-click genre. Wonderfully engaging, great music, and a satisfying story. It’s the kind of game that you miss once it’s over. About 3-5 days of gameplay depending on your free time.

Dystopian Heaven

If you’re an old school adventure gamer, what are u waiting for? Get the bundle! So much fun. If you remember Freddy Pharkus Frontier Pharmacist, you will love this game. It’s Sierra Personified. Don’t walk, run. Great f’in story that unfortunately matches Covid19 and a dark novelist from 1981.

This is a waste of money

This game is terrible you can’t get anything done because if you look at videos you will note that their is a wooden file and you can’t get it if you don’t get it at the beginning of the game. You need this file. Anyways the other thing thats supposed to happen is this man Clem and he’s supposed to talk to you about calligraphy witch doesn’t happen. Don’t waste your money on this game.

Another amazing story from Wadjet Eye Games

Techno Babylon is my favorite of their games, but this was a very close 2nd. Outstanding story line and character development. So much so I feel like this could have been a movie or tv series. I love point and click puzzle games, so if you do too, this is a must play.

On the nose

Playing this game in the age of Covid-19 is an experience that might not feel like much of an escape at first, but ultimately provides good catharsis. But for me, the game’s best moment was a little exploration of the distinction between curing a disease and managing it.

Nostalgic of King’s Quest

I used to play Sierra games’ King’s Quest as a kid/teen and the game play and look of Shardlight is very similar - brought back fun memories! Though it wasn’t as difficult (and sometimes frustrating), involved, or world building as the old KQ games, it was still an addicting RPG and fun/dark story. No unicorns or annoying talking owls in this one 😉 Well worth the money!

Another great Wadjet Eye game/storyline

Survivors in some kind of post apocalyptic world where people take dangerous jobs for the chance of getting access to vital medical treatment. The plot thickens...Totally engaging. Slightly mind-blowing.Keep them coming, Wadjet Eye!

Another glorious point-and-click from WadjetEye

WadjetEye really knows what they’re doing. An extremely well-crafted world with great characters, story, and puzzles. I’m off to buy another title by them!

Description

The world ended on the day the bombs fell. Since then, it's always been like this: disease, hunger, death. What's left of the people scavenge for existence under the unfeeling gaze of the elegant, masked Aristocracy.

Green Lung scourges the population, only briefly held at bay by the precious vaccine - and there's never enough to go around. Amy Wellard is a young mechanic drawn into the covert war between the forces of the Aristocracy and the mysterious, brutal rebel Danton. Can she play both sides - or will she be forced to choose? Is Danton right that the Aristocracy are hiding something important - and if so, what? -- Reviews -- Rock, Paper, Shotgun: "Grown up, well written, carefully paced, and genuinely interesting to explore." RPGFan: "Shardlight is crafted beautifully with pixel art reminiscent of the point-and-clicks of yesteryear" 82% Adventure Gamers: "A dystopia with style." 4/5 Just Aventure - "If you're looking for a classic point-and-click adventure, then you’ll love Shardlight. The story, characters, voice acting, and music are a treat."
