Amazing!
I’m new to roofing and needed something very simple to determine the slope. This app makes your smart phone into a simple slope indicator and works amazing! I tried several apps, but none worked like this one! I recommend it highly. Oh …. Showed it to the men who have done roofing for years and even they were amazed about its accuracy and ease of use.
Pitch Factor is not working
Downloaded Pitch Factor, then app requires camera access and location settings. Followed the instructions and went back to app. Unable to use app after selecting all settings as instructed. Every time I select camera it wants me to go back to settings and enable location in camera. Basically going in circle and not working. Maybe needs a patch to fix this issue?
Doesn’t work on new iPhones.
Needs to be updated.It never asks for access to the camera so it won’t let me add it in the settings. It says to go to settings>privacy>camera, but that’s not the way ios12 works anymore. It won’t let me use it with my camera which makes it almost pointless.
Location and Camera Access Issues
I’ve been using this app for over a year as an adjuster. More recently, there has been a bug that doesn’t allow camera or location services. The app gives instructions to go to settings and privacy to change the settings, but the bug doesn’t allow you to alter the settings to get the app working properly. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it several times, but to no avail.I’m still able to put the phone against a slope to get the pitch, but I can’t snap photos to add to my reports. I have to write them down on a notepad and write them into my reports.Hopefully a developer sees this review and responds. I’d happily change my two star rating to a five if they can get this fixed.
Update Needed!!!
This app is no longer allowing to save pitch photos or use the camera that is built in. It gives you instructions for settings but they are not accurate and it doesn’t allow you to enable the camera for this particular app. I’ve emailed the developer and still no response unfortunately. I guess I will need to look into another pitch app.
Work very well fantastic app
Work beautifully just make sure to turn on location while using app or allow it each time you open the app up to you, also allow camera access to take pictures, this might be newest review of 2020 this app deserves 5stars rating
Good but 1 thing could be changed
This app gives you the pitch factor and angle which is something I have yet to find another app does. However unless you accept the location tracking “while using the app” you’re prompted with the reminder to turn it on each time you open the app...Make this not show up after the first few times and the app would be perfect. When you’re on a roof it would be great to just open the app and have it work. The less little tinkering I need to do while on the roof the better.
Doesn’t work on iPhone XS
So I got this app for my roofing job. When I get on the roof to use it it asks me about four things before it lets me use it. Has ads that are annoying. My biggest reason for deleting the app is because I broke my phone and got a new one for my job. Emmy new phone was the iPhone XS which has no home button. This app wouldn’t allow me to swipe home. Wouldn’t let me close it because it didn’t have the new iPhone no home button update.
Works great
It’s a simple app and does what it’s supposed to do: finds the pitch. BTW it DID download an icon onto my phone. Seems to me the guy complaining in the previous comment had an iPhone / iOS issue, not an app issue.
Great App
As a roofing contractor, I use this app on every single roof. It shows the picture of the roof along with details of the roof in the background. This way people know that the pictures are tied into a specific roof or property. I am very happy that I found this app to use for work.
