This review is for the Robomaster EP Core. The app can’t connect to the robot via a router. In comparison, the Windows app finds the robot on the network and connects to it without any problem. In “Lab” mode:- the “Road to Mastery” tutorials are designed for the Robomaster S1 with a gimbal and blaster which the EP Core doesn’t carry.- major educational materials in the “RoboAcademy” section are inexistant: video courses and programming guide links don’t work. Anyway, they promise you’ll have access to custom learning materials when you buy the EP Core. But they are nowhere to be found on DJI websites except for the syllabus summary.Very disappointing.
Other reviews have noted the issues and the positives of a solid robot and a weak app. I can connect to both an S1 and EP core using the latest os on iPhone 12 Pro, but not on an iPad Pro since the last iPadOS update. It worked before, but something has been broken. Sadly, even on a large phone, the programming text is too small for me to use that. I can only connect via WiFi access point, which will have to do for programming. In addition, please fix the keyboard issue!
You can tell that they worked hard on the website. Just writing this to share my opinion.
Building the device was great but, once I was done and the battery was charged I tried to connect to the device using the app. I tried to use both, the WiFi and router to connect to my device but it wouldn’t work.
The Robomaster S1 is a great product. It is one of the most interesting and well-engineered robots out there. The companion app is also pretty solid. The Solo mode lets you drive around, the Battle mode sets up multi-player battles with scorekeeping, and the Lab lets you create programs in Scratch and Python. It would be great if the Battle feature supported teams, currently it is more of a free-for-all (still fun!).One of the earliest updates fixed the screen orientation feature, so now you can use an external keyboard for coding with the iOS app.
I was able to use this app before but I can’t seem to open it now. I tried deleting it and I was able to use the app up to accepting terms and conditions, after accepting it, the app would close. Then after that every time I tried to use the app it closed after a couple seconds.
When you go in the app the screen turns upside down and then you have to keep the screen upside down you can not fix it developers please fix it
I organized a group that fights regular S1 battles in Santa Clara, California. It’s tons of fun! Most of our group are Python coders, and we’re working on many cool autonomous battle programs so we can pit humans vs bots! There is nothing else like it! Great fun for learning Python! Now we crave Team Play Mode!It will be epic!
Me and my brother built each other‘s robot then we were playing battles it’s really fun. you just need to buy the DJI Robo master S1
You can program your robot to do amazing things and it can take videos and pictures. And you can control the speed of the robot thanks for the app
