The developer is extremely responsive!
I had a slight issue with the most recent update, so I reached out (not really expecting a response).I loved that the app followed the system’s display settings, and this was forgotten in the update. Without the app playing along, it can be an uncomfortable experience (only when opening it. Game play is still confortable ).Anyhoo, I really appreciate Mark responding to the matter and resolving it so quickly. 💕💕💕
Just GIN
I really appreciate that this game is just GIN. I had forgotten how to play as I don’t think I’ve played since childhood. Great layout, and I really like the little boost of help with the card arrangement at the “easy” level. I have definitely notice that when I abandon a meld, the card I would have needed shows up directly, but that could be a coincidence based on the number of rapid bands I’m playing rather than broken AI or. Bad shuffle of other reviewers comments. I would appreciate more help understanding the scoring. The wiki page used as “help” isn’t enough and I don’t always make the connection with the score card. I’d love it if it were spelled out more. Great app!
Tried ‘Em all.
I like the simplicity of the layout, the clarity of the cards and that you have to touch to discard. More often than it should, I believe, the computer is anticipating and reacting to all of my moves because it knows what’s in my hand. Come on! House gins immediately on the first play? happens far too often. I’ve played the beginner and the skilled-yes I purchased the app after playing about 25 games.
Simple and Quiet
The game is no frills and no noise. I hate when I am playing a quiet game and some incredibly loud and obnoxious ad comes on. I erase games the first time that happens. I know that developers use ads to support themselves, but what happened to buying, or subscribing to apps? The game itself is elegant and simple to play. My only complaint is that it doesn’t allow me to play “500”. It’s not worth bringing up. I love this game. I doubt I will be deleting this app anytime soon.
gin
just as good as the real game, a worthy adversary, althlough it does get quite a few one pick hands. The only drawback that I see is that I, the player, do not have the ability to move the cards that are in my hand around as I see fit. It is done automatically. and that bothers me (but maybe thats's just me). Also. opponent grabs knock card to quickly and takes it 90% of the time, whether it needs it or not. Just being a pest.
Pretty Close
Pretty good version of Gin. You can still tell (and feel) how it is not really randomly dealt. Like so many games where you play against the machine it seems to "know" what your cards are and has unrealistic streaks of good or bad luck. I would like to see Hollywood scoring and be able to play other people. A nice addition would be a record of stats and accomplishments. There really isn't a Gin game on the Mac App Store that has it all. It's not a very good selection.
Gin Rummy
I love this game and I think my husband loves it even more. It has big cards that you can make even bigger if you want. The feature that I like most is that it lines up the runs that you have for you so they are easy to see. It lets you adjust what level of difficulty you play, and it’s very easy to tell how each hand was scored. This is my favorite go to game when I am not connected to internet. It’s a winner!
The Best Gin
This one has it all. Would like to be able to arrange my cards myself, tho. I’m not as smart as the AI and I think I wouldn’t do as well on my own, which would be more realistic. Maybe then I’d learn to look more closely at my cards myself. But I do enjoy this tremendously. Thank you. Thank you for your Developer response! So sorry, I’m one of those annoying ppl who play the game without reading the hints, rules, etc. Had I done so, I’d have seen that you already included a button I could click in order to arrange my own cards. It’s still a 5 star game, even if the player only has a 3 star brain. 4 May 3022: Just another update to let the developer know how much I love this game. This wonderful game with no ads is superlative. 25 May 2022. It’s still the best gin! 9 June 2022. Another update to assure the developers that their gin is the best. Thanks!8 July 2022. Still excellent.

Simply put, great game. I really don’t even mind that it arranges the cards for me because I can change the order if them easily. Feels truly random cards, not always letting system win. No one left in the family to play Gin with, so I do love this game! UPDATE-still love this game, have not gotten tired of it. 2nd UPDATE: Still think this is an awesome app. UPDATE: SSTILLLLLL love playing this game. No frustration and since I love playing card games, gin being my fave, this is great when no one is available to play.
