Driver’s licenses are widely used as proof of identity in the United States and Canada. The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) has standardized the design of the barcodes PDF417 and the information they must contain. This data is encoded in a PDF417 barcode on the back, which can be read using the DL PDF417 barcode scanner. The app allows to input, verify and encode AAMVA ID/DL user data in the PDF417 driver's license barcode and ID barcode.The application contains all standard AAMVA elements and validation rules. Just provide user specific details and get the valid PDF417 ID barcode. The PDF417 two dimensional bar code symbology is the minimum mandatory machine-readable technology that must be present on compliant DL/ID documents. The PDF417 symbology (see ISO/IEC 15438 Automatic Identification and Data Capture Techniques - International Two-dimensional Symbology Specification - PDF417) shall be used for the Driver License applications. The symbology characteristics shall conform to ISO/IEC 15438. The bar code area shall be located in Zone V of the DL/ID document. The maximum width of the pdf417 symbol shall be 75,565 mm (2.975”). The maximum height of the PDF417 symbol shall be 38,1 mm (1.50”). All compliant 2D symbols shall employ a file header that allows interested parties to interpret the encoded data. Subfiles shall be employed to carry the specific information. The combination of a header and one or more subfile designators shall make up a compliant 2D symbol. Works om iPhone, iPad and Mac.
