Oil list fun

Very intuitive app and just fun to play with. It turns a left brained, non-artistic, too rational, with little imagination or creativity but with an appreciation of classic art wanna-be artist...this app makes my dream to be a great artist (at least in my mind) in many different styles a dream come true. Well worth it

Was awesome, quality has dipped.

This app used to be amazing, but a problem that has existed for a while and a recent issue have cause the quality to lessen. The most recent issue, is that the speed of the painting being created is now sluggishly slow. Whereas previously it would paint at a speed that was much faster and reasonable. And the issue that has persisted for a while is, that there’ll be white splotches or tiny white marks present in the painting often, even when no ounce of white exists in that specific area of the the picture. And so it leaves this rough, unfinished quality to the painting, which ruins an otherwise amazing painting. And letting it continue to paint tends to target other things.I really hope they can try to fix these issues, because I can’t devote so much time sitting around waiting for these paintings to generate with it moving as slow as it does and with all the blemishes that make them seem incomplete.

Please bring back ABSTRACT setting, modern, etc.

Overall, this app is fantastic! I recommend it highly for those wanting to tap their creativity. I have a couple of concerns, however, after re-downloading the app onto another device (Apple). The version provided for download no longer provides the original presets from which to further create a painting (only some remain, but other options were removed including “abstract”). To be fair, it may be due to a glitch, which likely accounts for a comparatively slow time issue also. Otherwise, it’s an exceptional app that I look forward to using again once these issues are, hopefully, addressed.

Great results first time

Grabbed a stock landscape photo I took up in the mountains near Denver and played with settings until it looked good. Really like the export settings. Now back to digging through years of pictures for that perfect painting.Years later I still love reimagining my pictures or screen grabs.

Really Fun App!

I’m a Decoupage Artist & Photographer. Use many of my own photos in my art creations. This app allows me the freedom to ‘paint’ my photos like famous artists (even though I don’t paint) Absolutely love the Maxfield Parrish version. I photographed a rose at night, then used the app. Seriously cool results!

Authentic painting looks with many variations

I bought Oilist a very long time ago and stopped using it. I tried it again today and WOW this version is a game changer! It has so many features that elevate the control we have over the results. Thank you for all the new features!

Oilist

I am a big fan of all your apps since day one. I can’t say enough positive features and a unique interface. My only suggestion is to include a status bar as it is painting. Is Oilist continually painting? One of my favorite Developers 5 stars hands down

This Program is really brilliantly, in that it...

....let’s you see the decisions it’s making, and, these neural net programs really are, “a big deal,” and I don’t think the rote part of the artwork, and the supplies, I s a fair gatekeeper, so what I’m saying is: (god help me) you really should try this

Description

Oilist: the Artist in your pocket. Make Fine Art based on your pictures! "Oilist is an artist in your phone, one that you watch sketch, paint, and craft a unique version of a photo you’ve shot." - MacStories, May 2017 "App of the week: Oilist review - Hypnotic, engaging, with a longevity that escapes most filter apps, and with high-res output so you can use it to create real-world art." - Stuff Magazine, April 2017 Give Oilist an image, and it will automatically generate a genuine and unique work of art based on it. Painted for you in real time!

Participate or spectate it's up to you, Oilist will delight! All saved at canvas-worthy 4k resolution. Oilist comes with 48 infinitely customizable styles; from photo-realist to impressionist, to abstract. Every style except for our photo-realist style offers three different levels of abstraction. Oilist is not a photo filter. Unlike most filter apps, Oilist will never generate the same results twice, and in fact, each brush stroke is unique. Instead of applying a fixed formula to an image as photo filters typically do, Oilist analyzes the supplied image using computer vision technology, then paints simulated paint particles that are applied using various brush strokes and techniques. At any time during the painting process, 4k resolution images may be captured as often as desired. When Oilist is painting, styles can be infinitely customized with 17 different presets (these were called Styles in previous versions of Oilist), 13 different painting moods, 15 different brushes, setting brush options such as the size and spacing, and by splashing paint with our exciting Chaos tool. Control paint gravity by tilting your device and brush angles by yawing (rotating) the device. Obtain new and exciting results by alternating settings with new settings painted on top of the previous settings. For instance, first, paint a layer using the Warm mood followed by a layer using the Cool mood. The use of large brushes tend to create more abstract artwork, and smaller brushes work best for high definition detail. Oilist will automatically provide smaller brush strokes and greater photo-realism to detected faces. Check out #oilist and follow us @3dtopo on Instagram and Twitter!
