Amazing, but it could use some help

I'd love to not only be able to save an imported picture as a video after it's been edited so I can get the full usage out of the gifs, but you should also add an eraser feature where you could get rid of the gifs in places you don't want them, and also maybe be able to paint where you want it to be. Other than that, it's great. Looking forward to seeing more effects being added.

Simply stunning

Every now and then an app comes along that has so much capacity that I know it will occupy my attention and expand my work. This is one of them. There are so many ways to alter images, and the results are sharp and colorful. I work with a variety of image editing and glitch apps, and this one has quickly become a favorite. It feels immersive, making use of touch-based ways to interact with images while altering them, rather than just pushing a button and waiting for a one trick filter to do its job. Congrats to the developer on creating a beautiful app.

Pretty cool

I like apps like this that do one simple thing. This thing takes video or pictures and adds trippy stuff to the picture. The controls are intuitive. I wish you could convert existing pictures, but you know what? That might mess up existing functionality, so I'd rather have something that works and is simple. Thanks.

! PlEaSe UpDAte tHis ApP !

The effects are so sick!!! But let's be real and bring up the fact that nobody wants to take a picture with automatic effects. It's good to be able to be flexible with the options of editing or not editing your pictures. So can you please update this app to make it have the option to edit existing photos?!? it would then be a 5 star app!! I REALLY want to use it on my existing pictures.

Amazing back in the day

I have used this app for years! I have recommended to several people as well. I looove it. A few months ago I was able to do video import, albeit not the whole video in one go it would like “record” part of the video with effects on and I could save and I took that as better than nothing. But yeah as others said this baby needs a good update to fix crashes, especially with imports. <3Much love, peace.

Hero status

One of the best apps ever in all of ever. Such cool effects and I love how much control there is. My only sadness relates to 1. How saving a video you've imported often crashes (crashing on me every time now) 2. When exporting video it compresses, so you can really only import a video that you shoot vertically. Actually...maybe not even that, I should test it. I don't see any similar complaints so also maybe I'm doing something wrong? (Update: Import into premiere and then export the clip and use that version in Moonshadow and now works). Still, love this app! Please fix the crashing 😢

Thank you for making this app!

Fantastic for making the trippiest visuals very quickly. The chroma keying works really well to separate effects and result in whacked out combinations of effects. Never had it crash on me during video or when effecting pre-existing video. Stills work well though video is where it shines. Can take a dull moment and turn it into “duuuuuude 🤯”If you use this on something that changes colors you will be pleasantly zonked for a couple minutes. Have not tried it on those stickers that change colors depending on how you view it, would probably be most 👌

Love The App, Would Even Pay For It If…

many of the bugs were fixed when using upload from library feature, it almost never works and just shuts the app off. also should have a little magnifying glass to attach filters to certain parts of the vid/pic

GIFS

we want a feature that enables us to save an image with moving effects into a gif and/or video. This would be sick!!!! Also the app crashes a lot. I don't write reviews often, but this app is actually really cool I'm glad it's not that popular. The last thing we need is every basic teenage girl calling themselves "trippy" on Instagram.

Fun app and useful for still art

Only use it to enhance or spice up compositions for still images, don't play much with video. That said, it's fantastic and quickly became a staple in my process. Find Nate Shaw on Instagram for examples and anyone on the team can count me in for beta tests. Thanks developers!

Description

Moon Shadow distorts reality into a wormhole of colourful, glitchy adventure. Map 15 unique generative effects on different portions of the image selected by colour matching. The concatenation of unique, non-deterministic effects creates a unique representation of the users perspective.

The collection of stunning effects in Moon Shadow are a result of a community effort. Graphic programmers were invited to write shaders to be included in the app. These artists include Cale Bradbury (@netgrind), Devin Horsman (@horsman), Yancy Way (@echophons), and Rob Butler (@BoTreats). There are no in app purchases. Instead, there is a cheat menu that unlocks new features and effects. Cheat codes can be found throughout the app and get hints by following @moonshadowapp on Twitter.
