I Love KRON4

I so appreciate getting local news and at a very reasonable subscription price. However I find it difficult to negotiate my way around the app. I’ll get a news flag on my front screen and it does not open to that article directly & it is not necessarily intuitive where to look for it. Also, I’m not sure if it’s the app or my phone but the videos time out so I don’t use them. Regardless, thank you KronOn!

KRON 4 News App

Overall a clean interface where I can get my daily “news fix at-a-glance.” Ads are not hovering all over the pages, unless you link deeper to other stories. It is frustrating when the news headlines main page dynamically refreshes itself. It hurts my eyeballs, as the headline I was just reading moved to another location on the page, and continues to move unless I click on it to read. Again, this KRON 4 app is good for a quick overview of the day’s headlines.

Application is a perpetual glitch

It’s like an 80’s application, I’ve downloaded the app in my fire stick to watch the news but it gets stuck every 5 minutes and right now I have 30 minutes in silence watching the Traffic, is like a horror movie and I’ll be on it in 30 minutes when I start driving to work!

No option to opt OUT of videos. And freezes!

This is the most difficult news app I’ve ever used. Not only does it CONSTANTLY freeze in middle of articles where I have to shut down app and try again, I REALLY feel I should be able to simply read an article WITHOUT being subject to the accompanying video. The video says “tap to watch”, but that’s not true. Videos start automatically each and every time I start reading. THUS, my family is awoken and I have to quickly punch my phone volume to mute it. Not ok to project noise without my consent. But that’s what this app does. So frustrating with KRON4. I emailed your news station with plea for assistance on how to opt out of auto video, but never heard back. Is it only me that has this issue?

Good – plus a suggestion

Would be great if you could cover the towns and counties that have and continue to fight the 5G microwave radiation street antennas being forced upon us by the FCC and Telecom. Interview Dr. Joel Moskowitz at UC Berkeley (Public Health) for starters. And Dr. Paul Heroux (McGill U.) At what point do you side with your viewers versus your advertisers, is the question I hope you ask. Please don’t sell us out by ignoring this most important ongoing development! .

Needs more customizable notifications

Way too many notifications, especially now with the COVID-19 coverage. I’m getting an alert every time a new death or increase in cases (both of which are to be expected) is reported in the state. This is a serious situation, but we can’t be bombarded with it 24/7 at such a degree. I’d like to still receive notifications, but there’s no way for me to differentiate alerts from breaking news such as new restrictions or laws, from updates every 20 minutes on the count of cases.

Commercials

I have always loved the great coverage that KRON4 has to offer. But lately I am irritated by the commercials that pop up on the top of the screen. I don’t mind that they are there and I understand the business purpose of the existence. My issue is the automatic volume that comes blaring on. I read the news in the morning and cannot see more about the subject because I can’t control the sound or level until I can hit the off button ASAP. I have woken up children and spouse due to this unasked for interruptions. I find it so irritating that I don’t sang to read the articles any more.

Absolutely the BEST News Program in the Bay Area!

While visiting friends in Glen Ellen, I enjoyed watching your news program...it reminded me sooo much of our news station back in Hawaii....Because of that, and the fact that I had a great time in Northern California, I decided to add theapp for KRON4 NEWS to both, my IPhone and IPad....that way I’ll always be connected in someway to the Bay Area and to my friends in Glen Ellen.

Notifications mysteriously keep reenabling

The app is good for the most part, but once a week or so I notice that more and more non-important alerts keep popping up in my notifications. I go into the app, and, sure enough, alerts like “Trending Now” are reenabled automatically. I shut them all off except for “News Alerts” and the process repeats itself later. It’s getting very annoying.I’m still keeping an eye out for a better local news app that doesn’t spam me with superfluous notifications in attempts to harvest more clicks.
