Smooth, Simple UI and Challenging Game

Love the smooth interface and like learning new words (really like the ability to click on a word for its definition). Enjoy playing this with my wife. While I share some of the concerns that the game counts some sketchy letter combos as words (ism, for example), it's not enough to make me put the game down. Another minor concern: the game recognizes some monetary units (like lire) but not others (like ruble). Seems like it should take all of them.

Fun but Incomplete

This game is fun. However, some common words aren't allowed. In some cases proper nouns are used, but not in all. They use old words sometimes, but not all the time. If there is a word that has two spellings, a lot of times one isn't allowed. Many times I checked the dictionary to make sure I was spelling a word correctly, and found there were two spellings of the same word. They use scientific suffixes and prefixes, but again not all of them, especially if they are more common. Just know, it might get irritating when you know you spelled a word correctly, but it's not there. Otherwise an enjoyable word game.

Fun play, but Limited dictionary

For a few days I was just putting up with some of the missed words. Then, I saw the “suggest a word” button. Now, I’ve been reporting words (not even the ones scrabble and WWF take (like ell). I have spent as much time playing as I have verifying my knowledge and reporting as I have playing. Some of the suggested words are not in a lot of conversations (oyes, mons, zeals), but some were just alternative spellings (I have always spelled it ochre, I consider ocher the alternative!!). I hope the developers can integrate a more comprehensive dictionary.

What dictionary?

I enjoy the game as a way to pass the time and keep my brain active. I’ve also learned a few new words along the way. My main complaint is the selection of words. While roc, orc (mythical creatures) and lofter are recognized as actual words, other actual words are not, like ems, ens (typesetting measurements) and floret. There are other not included words that are found in the dictionary that might be offensive to some (not profanity. R*pe is one example), but I don’t know if including those would change the rating of the app or if Apple would not allow it in the store. The game does allow one to suggest words, but I don’t believe the app is updated that often, at least in regards to its vocabulary.

Fun game but missing words

Fantastic interface. I love how you can underline letters to create words, drag letters, etc. Extremely well done.Very fun game. But it is missing many words found in the dictionary. Meanwhile, it has a large variety of made up words. So, if you wanted to play this game to strengthen, for example, your Scrabble play, the dictionaries are radically different. I wish it kept track of my highest score.

Disappointed

I loved the original Jumbaline. I played it for years, competing against myself. I never tired or it. I really do not enjoy Jumbaline2. So many words are either foreign spellings or non-existent that it really isn't even worth the time to play. Sorry. You had a good thing but not now. I still have the old version but like a previous poster mentioned, I get the big white rectangle and have to reset after every word. Believe it or not, I often do this just to avoid playing Jumbaline2.

Linguist

My favorite word game. Move and underline or tap the letters - very intuitive. It displays The words you have found in an alphabetical list, which helps you find missing words. This is my go-to game for short or long breaks. Programmers have been responsive to requests or glitches (which sometimes occur after iOS updates). I love this game.

New Player

Just found your game recently. Thoroughly enjoy it until I accidentally brush across the arrow that ends my game. Needs to be fixed. There are times when I get a pop up that asks if I want to end the game. This needs to happen each time the arrow is touched. Also, you changed the dictionary. Wrong move! Not as good. I also agree with other complaints of words not being accepted. Frustrating. Can't give a 5 star rating until these are fixed.

Pretty fun, though sometimes frustrating

I love the timed version where you have to find the (or ONE of the) longest words. Though it’s a majorbummer to lose on a word that is so obscure that maybe one out of 1,000 non-scholars would know. For instance, I’ve lost on words like “Nutria”, “Fecund”, “Abseil”. Who knows those words? I would be less frustrated if there was some sort of feedback system. But there isn’t.

Enjoyable!

I've been playing this game for a couple of years and I find it relaxing. The 5-letter word puzzles are usually very simple but the 7-letter words are more of a challenge. I downloaded it twice to be able to switch back and forth between the two. It's definitely a go to game for me.
