Ive been using Insta for about 5-6 years now and it has been pretty decent since I first started up my art account(s). I made a bunch of friends within the art community and what not, which I why I liked this app quite a bit. However, recently, Ive kinda grown a disliking towards IG- I have noticed that there are tons of updates, it seems like once or twice a week I check and IG needs and update, which annoys me because these updates don’t change a thing about the app (and when it does, it just moves on or two features around). And, on the topic of updates, the one with the notes feature didn’t add the feature to my main account and put it on an account I barely even use instead- I sent in two complaints/reports about this almost a month or two ago and nothing has come out of it. (Also, I from what I am hearing, the notes feature is gone so I guess this is no longer a major issue?) And this is not the first time Ive had an issue like this. There have been multiple updates before in the past year or two where the new features only go to the account I don’t really use, which annoys me because I have sent in reports about it before yet I still have the same problem. Also, recently there have been quite a few bugs/lags with the app, which is becoming more frequent- I guess sum it up, this app needs some serious fixing- It was just fine (for me anyways) before the past update or two, but now its just crappy-

pls im desperate to have music notes at this point

Dear Instagram, i don't wanna be mean but I have had an issue with your recent update, which allows users to put a 30 second music clip on their notes. I have not received this update, although all of my friends have. I have tried to be patient, & I have also tried fixing it. I restarted my phone, I updated my phone, I deleted the app, I logged out of my account, 1 tried updating the app multiple times, & nothing. No music option on my notes. I don't understand why I am being excluded. I am hurt, & overall shocked that Instagram could exclude someone like this. I would appreciate if you would give me this update. I don't find it nice to be excluding anyone from your updates, & I don't know why you chose me to exclude. But it is unfair, and I would like to receive this update as soon as possible. I think I deserve this, especially after you never let me use the "Add Yours" stickers as well. I have since gotten over it, but now I cannot let you exclude me any longer. Please give me this update, I do not deserve this. It's truly disgusting & rude of you to just leave me out. I really want this update, I am so mad you chose to leave me out of this update, out of all of the updates you have made. I love music, & I really would like to put it on my notes. I don't know why you're targeting me like this, but it needs to stop. Please provide me with this update, I would love to put music on my notes. Thank you.

Music Tag doesn’t work!

I have had Instagram since 2011 and I have never since then had an issue until the Music Tag feature rolled out and I haven’t been able to use it since then. I have tried so many things from updating everything, logging out and logging back in, uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times, going to someone’s story to look for the “Try It” button but nothing, unlinking my Facebook account, changing my password and updating profile.. which btw didn’t let me change it to my personal email because it was taken already, I have never used it so I clicked on forgot password to see who has been using my email but it says that it doesn’t exist so I’m a little confused on how it has been taken but doesn’t exist. But anyway I reported the Music Tag issue awhile back but haven’t heard back since then, so I reported the issue several times back to back to see if that works (prob not). All the research I have done over this issue has been through Google through other users experiences because IG doesn’t even have support help over this issue. The only thing that has inconveniently worked was to make a second account, everything shows up on there but as soon as I switch over to my account that I use it’s not there! INSTAGRAM.. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE, IM NOT THE ONLY ONE! 🤨

Please Stop With The Horrible Updates

I've been using Instagram since 2013 and every update I've gotten since then has been disappointing. This newest update (version 166.1) is one of the most annoying and ugliest looking updates yet. First of all, why would I want to connect Facebook messenger to my Instagram account?? It's so unnecessary and of course the DM feature on Instagram is basically mutating into Facebook messenger with the message reactions and the different colored messages. Secondly, the shopping feature being on the bottom bar is the absolute worst. I've never shopped on Instagram and never will but I'm stuck with this completely useless button on my toolbar and I always accidentally hit it when I just want to take a peak at the explore page. Thirdly, the reels feature is absolutely awful (I know that was from a previous update) and I hate that I have the reels icon on my toolbar. The toolbar in general is getting way too confusing and too many things are getting added to it. The fact that I can't even post a photo from my toolbar is probably the most annoying feature. I love Instagram and every time I get an update I just say to myself "Well, I guess I'll give it a try" but all of these updates that have happened in the last 1-2 years have pushed me over the edge. Probably going to delete the app because these updates have been nothing but awful ever since Facebook took over. Hate what they've done with it. Stop trying to turn Instagram into Facebook.

Problem with the update on notes and the 30 second music.

Hard To Navigate with the New Layout

first off i’d like to say that i’ve been using instagram since 2015. i’ve seen some changes over the course of these past few years that were very good for the overall use of the app, and some that just made navigating the app more difficult. the main reason why instagram has become so popular over the years was it’s simple layout that made it easy to access and interact with followers and discover people. but now, in 2020, likes and view counts are hidden, the feed isn’t in chronological order, the algorithm only allows you to see posts of only a handful of people you follow, and now the notifications have moved. if instagram wants to keep its users satisfied, then they need to go back to the classic look. keeping the classic layout with home, explore page, upload, notifications, and profile at the bottom makes the app easier to navigate. there is no reason why the shopping bag needs to be on the bottom bar because not everyone shops from instagram. there are a lot of scammers on the app! instead of changing the layout, instagram needs to fix the algorithm, put posts on the timeline back in chronological order, get rid of bot and spam accounts, and remove accounts/posts that don’t follow the community guidelines. now more than ever, there are many accounts that spread hate and misinformation! why was changing the layout a priority? fix it and bring likes and view counts back!

Hurting small creators

I don’t want to give Instagram a one star because overall I like the app, and if you’re a casual user this won’t matter, but if you’re a small creator who wants to grow a platform on Instagram, READ THIS.As of recent, they’ve been pushing out updates that actively suppress smaller creators, even if this isn’t their intention. First it was the removal of chronological feed, and, as of recent, the removal of the recent posts option under hashtags. While yes, you can filter it through recent top posts, it still only shows the top ones. This makes it much more difficult for smaller creators to branch out and build and audience, and I’ve also heard that people are getting shadowbanned for apparently no reason, but this is something I can’t verify. Basically, long story short, it’s nearly impossible for small creators to grow and get views the way they used to because their art is blocked by the top posts. There’s nothing wrong with having a top posts option, but instagram should bring back the ability to filter through recent posts, regardless of the amount of attention and engagement they’ve received. Every update it seems to get worse. It doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the app overall, but this is something that should change if they intend for this to be a platform where smaller creators have the chance to grow alongside other ones, and it’s something that is significantly impacting a large portion of their user base.

scroll/past messages

Instagram works just fine I just would really like a option were you can search a date up in one of your Mughals messages to see past messages! maybe to get an old conversation or to get proof of something someone said to you that is not appropriate and should be taken seriously. Maybe you want to re-read messages? I would really like this update and I’m sure many others would too!! every time I try to go to a certain date it crashes and logs me out or I accidentally scroll out of the messages,, my phone shuts off too and I have to start all over again just to look at something from the past, I wanted to re-read one of me and my mutuals private messages! when me and them first met and compare them to now. You could add a fast scroller to scroll all the way to the top in under 10 minutes instead of having us scroll up just to lag and get crashed from the app! Or to accidentally scroll one way and for the messages to be gone. Maybe you could even put a “search for date..” bar right above mute messages/video calls? please take this idea into consideration. Instagram keeps telling me that I need to click on the “tell us” option and it will freeze and glitch out whenever I open dms. Why is that happening
