New and not working right

I am a new user today. Using an iPad Pro. When I’m trying to browse other peoples work I can’t get out of it, it says to tap the screen in a certain place and you should be able to back out but there’s no way out other than closing the app. Also even after I turn off the camera, the App sometimes turns it back on or the camera just turns on by itself I don’t know which it is. Also I can’t figure out how to connect to it via Bluetooth only? It’s hard to use when I can only use my cellular data to browse tutorials and other things. First reaction is I’m not liking this app very much at all, it needs a lot of work.

Great Camera and Easy App

The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is it's missing some features. If you want to export a photo with a spin view you have to share it with social media and you can just select saving to your album.Second when I export a video with freeform it looks really good. The stabilization is amazing although the colors are dull but that can be fixed in post processing. The biggest negative is when I try to export a 360 video it looks really blurry compared to the freeform. Not sure why that is or if I'm doing something wrong but I have exported the 360 video from the app and the desktop app but the result is the same. So until I can figure this out or they fix their software I will only be using this camera for freeform videos.

Good but not great

Photo and video quality is good but not great. Having to sit through 10 seconds of advertising every time I open the app to use the camera is frustrating. If you’re into street view photography there are much better cameras available for slightly more money, check out the XPhase Pro, that’s my next camera. That being said, video stabilization on this camera is top notch, and dynamic range is quite good in well lit areas, which unfortunately brings me to another gripe, this camera is terrible in low light, this camera needs bright, well lit areas to shine. Overall after having used the camera for a few weeks I can’t recommend it for Street View but it is good for instagram, Facebook, and Insta360s proprietary platform.

Great app, BUT with a smooth work flow flaw.

This app works great and would get a 5 star rating except for one problem. When you are working with single panorama shots you can export it from the editing window to an online service or camera roll. Doing it this way the panorama retains all the meta-data and will work as a 360 Panorama. It works on Facebook and Google 360 x 180 pano. However, if you were editing a large number of shots as with a tour and then export them all at once from the thumbnail window they seem to lose some of the meta-data. They still are equirectangular but they do not function as spherical panorama’s. What this means is that I have to export a large number of shots one at a time it’s not really a problem it’s just a more difficult workflow.

Pretty good

Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because you can only edit once the video has been downloaded to your phone, which takes up a huge amount of storage. Then exporting the video, assuming you want to keep the full quality edited file, requires you to export it to your phone again. So it takes up even more space. Without a 32gb+ phone, editing anything longer than 4 minutes is impossible. Also my app keeps growing in size even though I delete local videos when I’m done with them. So I have to reinstall every 2 hours of footage or so

App crashes constantly

This app is crapp. On my iPhone 6 with 64GB ram, synthesizing HDR photos always terminates in an Insta360 ONEX app crash. I can take lots of photos and transfer them to the app, but can’t view them in the app because synthesizing causes the app to crash.Images downloaded to the app from the camera have no titles in the app or on the camera so it’s very difficult to figure out by looking at tiny circular thumbnails which images were already downloaded. If you delete/ reinstall the app, all your existing photos are lost if duplicates copies are not kept in camera memory. The app’s user interface is a confusing mess. It takes forever to load, and then unwanted ads are crammed in your face, instead of a simple functions menu (which does not exist). Functional links are scattered all over the place in random locations. The Insta360 ONEX camera has several fatal flaws, too. The tiny screen is dim and in most daylight conditions is virtually impossible to read. Anyone 40 years old will need bifocals or reading glasses to have any hope of reading it, which results in errors such as accidentally selecting the wrong camera mode or accidentally changing settings when trying to take a photo.Overall, the app is a mess and the camera needs some serious redesign.

It’s About Time! Great Feature to have

Been waiting for a while for this. I take a lot of photos with this awesome camera but it took too long to process each pic one by one. Pressing 8 buttons or so for one pic to be process and saved to phones library was insane! That’s all gone now with this batch processing update. So hats off to you at Insta360 for this and all previous updates since launch. You’ve set the bar high for similar cameras forcing all to up their game. So, nice going. Good on you, keep pushing new ideas, updates etc and a Big Thank You for making 360 photography awesome and so much fun!

Must delete app to delete files...

For what I need, this app does the job. I capture the footage, export the files so that I can work with the video clips in other software, and it looks good. However, I tried to delete 50GB worth of video and the app size remained the same. Out of the various solutions I have tried, it seems that deleting and reinstalling the app is the only way to free up space on your device. A minor inconvenience, but I expect better functioning from a supplemental app when I pay $300+ for the camera. For reference, I am using a 12.9” 3rd Gen iPad Pro on iPadOS 13.3.1

Not as stable as I'd expect

So for the most part the app is pretty slick but I've had multiple occasions now where the app just plain crashed. I was editing a video I just downloaded to the phone and mid way it just crashed. Seems it is due to the smart capture stuff. The other issue I'm seeing and now sure if it's the software or the camera but when I am moving the camera from one view to another it gets really really fuzzy and the quality is diminished greatly. This is in 5k..still playing around with settings but 5k looks great on a phone or iPad but moving from a spot to another while camera is on selfie stick gets me very subpar results.

Doesn’t always connect

I use this on my iPhone X 512gb phone I have swapped my phone and I have to delete and reinstall this app at least every other week because it won’t connect to the phone and it’s not connected to any other WiFi. I use this camera to do about 200 pictures a week. There is definitely a bug somewhere in it that needs to be addressed. I would have gave it one star but in fairness it works wonderfully for the pictures and posting on google and Facebook. I hope you come out with another one that is a little better sooner instead of the 10,000 one lol. I would pay a 1000 or a little more for even better. Like one with a light and at least four cameras on it. I recommend this camera the Insta360
