It works pretty good. GR3 user

When you connect to the WiFi it says no internet connection. Disregard that and proceed, you’ll find that it is in fact connected. When you have the app open and you see your pictures start to appear on your phone, press play on your camera so that a picture is on the lcd screen, I’m not sure why but this seems to make a big difference. Also, you’ll probably need to change the auto sleep mode on your camera to off, I did but not sure if necessary. If you have the app running too long it will stop working and you need to close and reopen the app. I find it best to transfer smaller amounts of photos at a time but I have transferred over 15 at once.

Works but missing critical export options

The app is simple, works as it should over wifi, but for some reason the app can download DNGs but when exporting the photo it only exports it as a JPG? Why isn’t there an option to select which format to share the photo in?In addition I’m not sure where on the iOS the photos are saved so I can’t even manually copy them.

Painful, slow, odd

I didn’t try too long to use this app. After setting up my phone to talk over wifi with the camera I started wondering why I’d want to route the photos through my phone to get them to my computer. Since I had to click on each photo to transfer them individually, I had loads of time to think. After five or so, I opted to transfer them directly off the as card. That took a couple of seconds. Not even enough time to delete the app.

Works only part of the time

I would love for this app to work as described. Unfortunately it seems to work only part of the time. For me it consistently gives the message of not connected right after confirmed connection. with no discernible path of solution. If you need to re-install and find work arounds it’s purpose has already been defeated. A solid version of this app would surely elevate the cameras. Frustrated since when it works it is really helpful.

Getting better all the time

This app is of course nice to have with a supported camera, but is still a work in progress. Once connected it works well for transferring images to the iPhone’s camera roll, and remote shooting is smooth with Live View.It really needs to have an option for “Background App Refresh” as well as an option to allow Location data “Always” in order to be useful for Geotagging location data when using the Ricoh GR III. It should also reconnect to the GR’s WiFi automatically instead of prompting to “Join this Network” as it does now.

Rarely even works

I have a Pentax K-1 and have been trying to get this app to work to transfer images over the wifi. Sometimes it does work, albeit incredibly slowly. Other times it appears to be transferring for 20 seconds or so then says the transfer was interrupted. If you've selected multiple files, you have to go back and choose them all again. Honestly, this app seems like it was designed for someone trying to transfer a single picture. Transferring more than a few at a time is a royal pain in the UI even if it does work.Very disappointing after getting such a nice (and expensive) camera.

Please fix - Updated

Updated: The 2.0.1 update appears to have fixed issues syncing issues. I was able to transfer single images as well as groups of images without issue. The app is much more intuitive than earlier versions and finally appears to be the fully functional and usable app it was promised to be. I was able to download images with the previous version, though very slow and it wasn’t very intuitive on how. With version 2 I can’t even download images one at a time. It just stays at 0% for 5-10 minutes even with my my camera (k70) a couple inches away. I was able to get a couple to show progress to 100% after waiting an incredibly long time but it would just get stuck there and wouldn’t finish. It also seems to drain the battery on my iPhone incredibly quickly. On the plus side the user interface is easier to use and more intuitive. Too bad it doesn’t work.

The only good camera app

I have no idea why people are complaining about this app. It connects quickly, the wifi transmission for the live view is incredible, and it's simple. I shoot with all brands for work and only Panasonic has a good app for some odd reason. This one is just as good considering it's just for photos.

Garbage app

Cost money to buy GRII which supports wireless transferring photos. Thought this is awesome, but this app is simply garbage. After transferred photos and I backed up my photos to iCloud, there are no photos on my phone anymore, but this app still took my all storage and never release the empty storage back to me. Every time after transfer photos, I must delete this app once to release storage back, then download again to use for next transferring. So get tired of this. Ricoh's IT programmers are just garbage!

Just stopped working-wish there was an alternative

Just completely stopped working. It worked for a couple years but after an update 6 months ago it no longer does. My phone will show that I’m connected to my camera via wifi but I open image sync and it says that it’s not connected. No matter what I do I cannot get my image sync to work again. So frustrating that it worked for a couple years and then just like that I’m not longer able to use this app whatsoever
