Fun at first... But gets repetitive

I've put 30+hours on this game perhaps only to realize its a big waste of time. The main thing that annoys me is you have absolutely no control over the ball besides the initial first hit, then you watch the ball bounce all over the place until you either land in the water(happens very frequently) or if you're lucky to land in the green you'll get to put the ball in. They definitely need more player control over the ball, perhaps the spin direction, or powerups that allow perks to be able to aim better towards the hole. Instead you're stuck watching this annoying animation to finish, even when you know you haven't got anything special, you're forced to watch the ball rolling back and forth until it comes to a complete stop. Please allow at least the option to fast forward

Needs improvement

Personally I think this game is great. It's amazing but there's a few things that could do some working on. I hear some people say they hit something and go flying backwards. I happens to me too. Sometimes I hit a perfect only to be stopped cold by water. Most of the time it comes out of the water and it still counts as a game over. So I suggest adding a new upgrade. Golf course. Upgrade this would give +5% chance of a clear landing. Another thing that needs working on are the goals ( e.g. "Reach 1,000 to unlock a new character!"). I haven't seen anyone else talk about this but multiple times I reach past the designated length without unlocking because of the fact that you have to put the ball in a hole at or past the goal. It messes me up badly because almost always I reach the goal, but don't make it on a green. Heck my current highscore on the lava planet is 1497 and I STILL haven't passed the 1,000 goal. In summary, • Make it possible to reach goals without having to put the ball in a hole.• Add a Golf Course upgrade adding a +5% chance of a clear landing.• Make it so that if the ball comes out of the water you can still continue.• Make bunkers slow down the ball instead of completely stopping it.I hope you take my review seriously and consider my suggestions. Thank you! 🙂

The objective of the game is...

The objective of the money-making game is to watch their ads until you reach the physical condition of your character to reach orbit. The video demo ad, before you download the game, is highly inaccurate! Do you know the amount of times that I scored a perfect ball and still haven’t reached orbit? Worse of all, they have that weekly subscription of $8+tax, which I’ve only done the trial. You know what’s funny, you’re still watching ads so you can multiply your money so you can pay (digital money) for the expensive upgrades of strength, speed and bounce! Now talking about the upgrades, you notice at first the differences in strength and how far the ball goes. After a while you start noticed to it apparently applies negatively to you as well. That ball goes backwards so many times and I lose money. After that happened about 40-50 time, I’ve noticed how much of a waste time this game really is. Do yourself a favor and don’t download this app. You’ll find yourself stuck in this loop of continuously watching their ads until you’re done.

Just bad

The first thing you see when you start the game is an ad to get a “VIP” thing that gets you a few extra characters and no ads. I would be fine with that if it was like $0.99 or something but, it’s $7.99 per WEEK. I have no idea how Apple allows that when stupid people will see that and buy it because they don’t realize they just signed up to a weekly service to a garbage iPhone game that is already free. Besides that, the game it’s self is about as fun as watching a dead person sleep. You can only be insane to enjoy this. This is the same game that has been redone a million times but with the added bonus of no sound. Even though there is a toggle sound option, there is NO sound. I have no idea how people can enjoy this game and most of the games on the App Store because they are all the same. There are only a few hidden gems in the garbage App Store. If you actually enjoy this game, I need to know why. And if you are paying $7.99 per week for this, I also want to know why. Anyway, this game is terrible, don’t play it.

Fun at first

This game is very fun at first but after you get off Earth getting off Mars is practically impossible. There’s been several times I went all the way around the planet and it still didn’t result in a setup in the fairway. Even more present is getting a “perfect hit” only for that to be followed by falling directly into lava or getting stuck in a tree. Even worse than that is when you end up going backwards after a perfect hit, I’ve gone behind the starting point many times, this effectively makes the game feel as if it’s actively working against you making it impossible to win. On top of all of that the ads on this game are absolutely ridiculous. I normally don’t complain about ads especially on free games, I love supporting small creators, however on multiple occasions I’ve gotten an ad after every hole for over five holes in a row. This wouldn’t be to big of an issue if they offered an add free version for a reasonable price, $1.99-$2.99 sounds fair, but this app has it set to $7.99 a week or $32 a month. At that price you could likely go play real golf two Saturdays out of the month and not have an ad for a dating sim shoved in your phone every 30-45 seconds. Ultimately this application has a good enough base but the execution screams lazy and greed driven.

Great game with flaws

Like the title says, the game itself is great. Very fun to play, challenging enough to make you work for your coins, and a great time waster. It’s just a bummer that half of that time is spent watching ads. I can understand having ads to support your game being free but when the ads show up every hole, every two holes, every x amount of holes it gets to be a bit much. I wouldn’t mind spending a few bucks on an ad free version of this game but to do so you are asked to pay $8...every week...I like this game but I refuse to pay $32 on a free game every month. I’m still playing, don’t get me wrong, but not nearly as much anymore. The ads popping up have started to frustrate me so when they do I close out and switch to something else. Get rid of the subscription service for free ads and make an ad free version at a reasonable price ($5 or under) and then you’ll get my money.

Mostly fun

Now that the jackpot issue appears to be fixed or at least doing better (I don’t think you can get 100x), it’s worth playing every now and then. The part that makes it not as fun as it could be, the ball comes back towards you after the first or second bounce most of the time. So I can hit the ball 5000 feet in the air and then it only ends up going 2000 if I’m lucky. I’ve even had it to where I’ve gotten negative feet. That’s even the case when I get a perfect hit and the ball is supposed to smash through objects but it hits them and bounces right back from where it came from. If it’s not that, it’s the water. I just can’t seem to understand why this game is called GolfOrbit. You can only go into orbit on the first world once and that’s it. If there is other times, the game needs to tell us because I have played for a long time and have gotten it to where it cost many million for each upgrade but no signs of orbiting anytime soon.

Ads

The ads are terrible, after every game it loads an ad and it’s horrendous. Then to get rid of said ads you have to pay $20 PER MONTH to get the “VIP” which gets rid of ads and get some other pay to win items. Then it gets worse it’s $100 PER YEAR to get “VIP” which had the same as said before. This is stupid, mobile games should be allowed to charge $100 for no ads. For $100 I can get the ultimate edition of any new console game, which includes every single add on included in the price. This game needs to tone down the ads, it ruins the play experience when you have to sit through an ad with an invisible “X” then get sent to the App Store then you can go back to the game. Every time. I wouldn’t mind a $.99 no ad option, but the minimum for no ads and useless in game items is ridiculous. It’s not as bad as Bowmasters but still is extremely annoying. Devs if you are reading this please at least add a no ad purchase for $.99, it’s a reasonable price and people wouldn’t mind that, but $20 is too high. The game in itself is fun but the ad experience makes it un-fun to play.

Too many ads

While I understand that developers use ads to make money and finance the creation of their apps, there are entirely too many in this game. An ad every other play is ridiculous. You would get enough ad views just on the video bonuses alone, but that is apparently not enough for this greedy developer. While this game is fairly high quality in my opinion, and I would ordinarily be willing to consider to pay 2.99 or maybe even 3.99 to eliminate the ads, that isn’t an option here. Nope, to play this game ad free, you have to sign up for a VIP subscription that costs 7.99 per week. $8 per week!? That’s insane! That adds up to $420 per year! I wouldn’t pay 7.99 for this game once, let alone every week. This could be a great game, but the greedy developer ruins it. The only reason I gave this three stars is because you can still play offline, which is rare for any mobile game these days. I’ve had enough of the ads, and I’m deleting it. Don’t waste your time on this.

Game is great, but man...

The more I thought about it, the more I honestly don’t care for this developer. There are a lot of ads, and I can deal with them just like most people can, but let me echo what a few others have said: the $8 a week for ad free playing is a blatant rip off. It’s like they aren’t even trying. I’m sitting here thinking there has to be at least one person, along with likely MANY more who accidentally forgot to cancel after their three day trial and could be $40-$50-$60-$70 or more paid to this company without even realizing it. Kid takes phone, kid hits button paying for no ads, parents are unaware, parents unknowingly pay $32 A MONTH for this game. If that’s not a ripoff, I don’t know what is. They have several in game characters that also look extremely similar to some of your favorites- Mario? Tiger Woods? They just are a bit too shady for me to support, so I am unfortunately deleting the game from my phone. For what it’s worth, the game itself is actually pretty fun. Just wish the devs weren’t taking advantage of people.
