Clean design

This review is about the paid version of the game (see below for a few comments about the ad-supported version). The design of this game is very clean and nice. I'm hard-pressed to say exactly why, but I've tried several versions of freecell and this one is easiest to use... You can for instance move cards around with a minimum of actions (drags and clicks).I have one complaint which is why 4 stars not 5. The autocomplete is too eager to move cards to the completed pile rather than to a position on one of the active card stacks. It does this in spite of the fact that placing on the stack is clearly the better choice. As a result I often have to undo the autocomplete and then drag the card to where I want it. In all other cases when autocomplete has to make a decision regarding more that one possible move it makes a good choice. I just wish it would default to the active stack rather than the complete pile. The ad version is far less nice than the paid version. In the ad version card movements are often jerky and delayed. I presume cause of background work gathering ads. Also, having played the ad version for a long time and recently switched, I have the feeling that the ad version was using much more battery. In short I highly recommend this game, and strongly suggest you get the paid version of you spend a lot of time on freecell.

Great app 2 reviews......both 5 stars

I have a few FreeCell games on my devices. This one is by far the best. It works flawlessly. No ads, just playing the game. Great extras on the menus. Keeps track of moves and time spent playing the game. As others have said, giving the games numbers would be nice. I have used this well over 2 years now. Not one glitch.

Best FreeCell app by far

This review is for the paid version. After giving the free version a one star rating for all the ridiculous ads, the developer contacted me and let me know about this paid version. Now I’m happy again.

Good way to pass time

I've always loved playing freecell and have spent hours doing so in the past. I actually got the paid version of the app since the only complaint I could see was the ads with the free version. I do not regret the decision for one second, considering I've already spent 7+ hours in the last two weeks playing it.

Brainium won, I bought the ad-free version

And all it took was almost a month of being smacked with ads for Boppy pillows and some cartoon figure looking at a positive pregnancy test. When you haven’t been able to have kids (the first person who says “just adopt” will get a pop on the nose), these kinds of ads showing up over and over and over don’t help the sadness. So I bought the ad-free version to escape them. I’m never going to be buying those products, and I suspect they’ve been targeted to me only because of my gender. After all, aren’t all women also moms by default and interested in that kind of stuff? (We aren’t.) I don’t care how well the ad-free version of the game works, so long as I don’t have to be reminded of my loss by those awful ads.

One of the best FreeCell apps out there 👍👍

This is one of the best free cell solitaire games I have on my iPhone and iPad. A while back, I rated the “free” version one star because the ads were way too loud and obnoxious. However, after I purchased the FreeCell+ (plus) stand-alone version with no ads, it shot straight up to 5 stars! It is an excellent app and very nicely coded. I do like other freecell games such as the one in Solitaire City but this one is slightly better in many ways. For example, the automated touch/move feature is great and makes it easier to play a quick game. I highly recommend this app/game. 👍

A better mousetrap

The way to riches is to make a better mousetrap. Since mice will be with us for the foreseeable future, what is needed is a way to better control them. This is what has been done with this old game that is still engaging. Make it faster, more attractive and yet still the engaging challenge it has always been. Their dominoe game is just as true to this formula. Bravo!!!!

No advertisements are great!

I used the free version for years until opting to upgrade to the paid FreeCell, mainly to avoid the advertisements. This is so much better. I’m not sure why, but all the ads really drained my battery. Now, all is normal. Wondering why I waited so long to make the change.

Old version was useful

In the olden days I could compete with family and friends using a numbered free cell game.. We would start playing at the same time and whoever finished first won. All we needed was a phone and a free cell number. So fun.

Free cell

I have just deleted all my Branium games (5 in all) because I got tired of the frequent, long, almost impossible to close, ads. Users should know these apps are based on very common and readily available games. I found a much better free cell that has NO game interrupting ads, just unobtrusive ads at the bottom of the screen. I can play game after game with no interruptions. Branium should wise up and do something about these very annoying apps.
