My two favorite filter apps

I’m very glad my Stackables formulas are in this app but I’m very sad Stackables is not being updated. There is nothing comparable on the market. It was hands down the best app for layering effects on photos. Please keep both apps available!!!

The best of filters...

Formulas and Stackables are my favorite filter apps. They can make all the difference in bringing out the nuance, mood and beauty of an image. I use these filters for the majority of my creations, and I, like so many other creatives, have been very, very sad and disappointed that Stackables is no longer being updated and available on the App Store, and that Formulas may follow. There have been many discussions in the mobile photography and art groups on Facebook regarding this as the apps are so widely used and loved. Every teacher of mobile art and photography I know, hundreds of artists, books regarding the subject, and numerous articles, have mentioned and recommended Stackables. With the continued influx of artists in this growing genre of mobile art and photography, both Stackables and Formulas would continue to grow in popularity. I’ve been wondering, can another developer not acquire Stackables and continue to develop it and keep it available? And why is it not worth continuing to develop? These apps are so much a part of my creative output, I’ve even considered no longer downloading IOS updates on my devices in order to insure I can continue to use them!

The simplicity and the subtle

Whenever I see an app more than 5 years old only upgraded for the next operating system I worry. This is a lovely app but it could use perha0s some textures like peeling paint, shattered glass or fresco ?

Filters are Great But…

I purchased Formulas, which is great- love the filters- but went to combine them and was told that “Stackables” wasn’t available in my region- Indiana, USA- really? Couldn’t have told me that before I bought it? Also didn’t know that I’d need to purchase Stackables as part of my Formulas purchase, but yep! So I can only combine the filters now if I screenshot/crop/reload, etc. SUPER inconvenient. Disappointed but still appreciate Formulas- excellent filters.

Transforms my artworks beautifully

I really enjoy playing with this app. It gives my artwork beautiful effects that would be very difficult to imitate by hand.I also use Stackables, by the same app creator. These kick up my artwork up quite a few notches, and with very little effort.High resolution images.If you like this, and you don't yet have Stackables, I recommend getting that app as well. Building up layers gives you endless combinations. I do that in Stackables.But when I want a quick transformation, I use Formulas.The other option is to take a variety of filtered images of the same photo, and tweak them in layers.There are many apps you can use that have layers.I know this review is about Formulas, but the other info I think is relevant.This is the way I use this app.I like to play around with layers of these images, combining them, and seeing what interesting things I can come up with.Kicks up every image I have to an exciting and interesting image with creative textures and moods.I use this app on my iPhone and iPad.It works beautifully, and is easy to understand.It's worth every penny and more!

My favorite by far

Gorgeous filters. Gives my images that special pizzazz that I haven’t been able to get from other filter apps. I also use Stackables, which I love love love, from the same developer. I’m super sad that Stackables is no longer available in the App Store. Rumor is that Formulas is also being discontinued. Always a sad day when wonderful apps die.

Absolutely top of the line filter app

I absolutely love this app! Wish Stackables was available to users here in the USA. I’m concerned that there’s been no updates in quite some time. Have the developers abandoned this application??? It’s the only reason I can’t give a 5 star rating.

How I wish I have known this filter before. This is exactly what I have been looking for. I just wish there’s more to choose from. But this transforms my work into an art. No guess work. I love it.

Amazing!

This (and sometimes in combo with Stackables) is my favorite artistic editing app hands down! I’ve been using it for several years and it’s let my creativity soar! I’d like for it to be updated just to let other iPhone users have access because I’ve noticed that the only way to access it (them) is by going into my previous purchases. Links IN the app don’t work- haven’t for awhile. Why have you abandoned them?

Absolutely love it!

A superior filter app for bringing like and new creativity to your stills. To say “filter” doesn’t do this apps robust power justice. It’s a program for increasing the quality of your pictures by hundred fold! You will not be disappointed! I never am.
