Ball The Spot
Zero Stars is the rating….Barely operates much less having any functionality. Whoever designed this app has no knowledge of Texas UIL Districts and how well it is organized. The traffic that used to access this site has to be suffering. The app’s very design to access Conferences, Divisions, Districts and teams scores, schedules and standings is horrible. The simple and easy navigation with the previous version was hands down better. Somebody saved a lot of $ or wasted a lot of $ making this Application the face of Friday Night Football Scores in Texas. It truly makes Texas HS Football look bad. “The man Dave Campbell” would have never allowed this to happen on his watch. “Do it Right”!
They went back to the old 5star app!
Today I see they brought back the old app which was and still is a 5 star winner. The so called ‘update’ was a Zero-star unmitigated disaster of the worst sort. I deleted it off my phone. When I heard they reverted to the classic app I reinstalled it to see for myself. Lo and behold! PLEASE DO NOT SCREW WITH THIS APP ANYMORE. What on earth ever made anyone want to mess with it in the first place?
Updated - Poor Upgrade
***Update***They listened to our concerns and reverted back to the app we all love. Thank you for responding to our comments and concerns. Back to a 5-star rating you go!***Original***I am not sure why the decision was made to change this app. Been using the 5-star app for years. It was clean, it was accurate, it was bug-free. It was just great!Now they’ve replaced it with this. This app has so many bugs, it’s hard to use. Favorite teams don’t save right and you have to try multiple times to get it right. Scores don’t show accurate until you click into the game. Who has time to click into every game? Several of the games won’t load when you click them - just says game doesn’t exist. How can we convince the owners of this app to revert to previous version until this one can be hardened a bit more? 1 star until then.
Bring my old app back
This new version of the app is what I would envision if I drove 88 mph in a Delorean and went back to 1985 and Dave Campbell himself coded an iPhone app. It is impossible to scroll through scores and the scroll resets every 3 swipes making you essentially have to start over. No disrespect to Districts 1 and 2, but I’ve never spent so much time looking at their scores while trying desperately to get to region 4. This is a profound downgrade from what was a very useful and high-quality app that I looked forward to using each weekend. To not be able to sort scores by region and district renders the app useless. It’s an easy fix. Just give us the old app back.
Used to be the best app
They ruined it, it has more bugs than a spring time, southeast Texas evening. My teams are no longer grouped, when I open the classification, I can sometimes scroll down and see an additional 2 teams and as soon as I try to advance it further, it reverts back to the top of the page, so I can only see 4, sometimes 6 games momentarily if I’m lucky.It’s basically useless, there’s no sense in wasting time and space, they tried to change it last year and reverted it to the old GUI, now they’ve done it again and it’s even worse than it was last year, they just can’t help themselves, I’m guessing they want to kill the app in order to promote a premium pay service.Don’t waste your time downloading it, it is unusable as it is, download Texas Prep Scores instead!
Awful-Bring back the old app
I wish I could give negative stars. I have uninstalled and updated this app and it STINKS!! The old app was 100 times better. This app HARDLY EVER LOADS (99-1)and if it finally does the night is over, so much for staying up to date. The search bar is a joke-it should be called the “nothing happens here”. So much for searching up a team. And trying to accurately touch a teams name when viewing the nightly scores to see there standings is a joke! The list goes on and on I could write a book-currently looking for a different app
Weekly downloads to get app to work, score update issues
I’ve had nothing but problems with this year’s version on both my iPhone and iPad. I’ve had to remove the all, then download it again, sometimes it has to be done several times to finally get it to work. Once installed it does not update scores during the game. I often have to delete the app then reinstall in order to get updated scores. I have used previous versions of this app for several years without any issues, please make any corrections to correct this problem.
What a joke.
If I could give less than one star I would. This app used to be simple and efficient. The new design is absolutely terrible. It’s almost impossible to find scores because of the app layout. Having to scroll from district to district just to somehow end up back on the district you just left is extremely frustrating. It requires a quick flick, and often times that doesn’t work. If you try a slow scroll you end up moving to the complete bottom of the app, and yes still stuck on the same district you didn’t want to look at once you move back to the scores. There are countless sports apps they could have tried to mimic, but the no-talent-dumpster-clown that came up with this design tried to reinvent the wheel with a pointed ellipses. I try to make reviews helpful with constructive criticism, I really do, but this app needs to be blown up and rebuilt from the ground up.
Very very frustrating app
The developers of this application don’t seem to understand what the users of this application want. The previous version of this app was liked by a majority of the users for over a decade. However, when the Dave Campbell outfit took over, some suit decided the app needed to change. When the change took place the immediate reaction from the users was that it was a poor change and the negative responses were numerous. The Dave Campbell people totally ignored the user input and continued with the new but extremely frustrating application which they are continuing but with even more frustrating issues. The app is so bad now that I will discontinue using it except to look at it every so often to see if the Dave Campbell people have made it usable. I would not rate this app even one star if possible. I have asked Apple to remove the app from the store. It’s that bad.
(2021) if it ain’t broke don’t fix it
The devs listened and reverted back to how the app used to be but the server(s) still seem to be unable to handle the amount of people that use the app on Friday nights and scores take forever to load. Before this year’s “update”, last year the server(s) worked just fine on game night.-Original Review-The new update emphasizes reading Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine articles instead of the app’s primary focus of game scores, game chat, and forums; most essential features from the old version are completely gone. The servers cannot seem to keep up with the amount of people using the app as the magazine articles will load but the game scores and schedules will not. This reflects what users of the app care about. Developers, fix what you broke.
