Better than Hipstamatic

I’ve had this app for a while now, and LOVE it. In my opinion, it’s miles better than Hipstamatic. Sure, it doesn’t have the combinations of myriad lenses, films and flashes, but it doesn’t need them. The films available are awesome. It does what it does well. My go-to for perfectly retro photos. The colors are rich and vibrant. I also love the black and white films.My only wish would be the ability to save the original file as well.

Best of its kind

I love these analog camera style apps, and this is my favorite of the ones I’ve used to date. Fimo’s films are gorgeous, and the interface is pleasant to use, though a little bit clumsy in landscape. Still, I’m delighted every time I use the app and find myself trying to find excuses to take more photos with it. A few wishes: I’d love the ability to save an unprocessed version of a photo taken (perhaps the photo can be saved as “with edits”, so it can be reverted to unprocessed if desired from the main Photos app), and the ability to have embellishments such as frames left out (like how dating a photo is optional), would be nice as well. Regardless, thanks for the wonderful app.

Loss of button control on iOS 15.1.1

FIMO has quickly become one of my favorite apps to take photos with. But with the 15.1.1 iOS update you can no longer trigger the shutter with the volume up button. This is a small function but It made quite the difference for the overall feel of having an analog camera. Especially if you pair your phone with a Bluetooth shutter button. I hope the devs address this sooner than later because I love this app and wish to continue using it as my main camera.

Cat Scan

Justame has clearly mastered the art of turning the iPhone into a useful and interesting camera.Thus far, none of their cameras are innovative. They merely imitate what’s been done before.Mind you, these emulations are incredible.But they are still copies.The world needs a new kind of camera.One that makes animal noises.When I photograph pets (cats and dogs), I have an impossible time getting them to look at the camera lens on my phone.Imagine if my phone made a chirping bird noise a split second before the shutter snaps!My cat would instantly look at the camera.If the camera makes the same noise, my cat won’t look again, since she already knows that that sound is. Trust me, I’ve tried it.But what if a digital camera were to cycle through different high pitched noises with each snap of the shutter button!This is an app that everyone needs.We all need better pet photos.

I have brought just about every roll of film on this app! This app is amazing! I’m a loyal customer! This is arguably the greatest app I have ever used! Please keep it around! If it’s too much to ask, can you guys think about bringing Cinestill? I will definitely buy without a second thought! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😎😎😎😎Thank you responding! The best interface, just wished video worked!!

This analog camera app is my absolute favorite to date. 69 rolls to chose from and they are all so realistic. I love the printing feature and how it actually saves like a film strip!! I will def give a 5 star review once the video option works. I paid for the full version hoping to unlock that feature only to find it was buggy and would force close the app if tried to use it.

This app raises a lot of concerns on personal data

I just found out upon upgrading my iOS that this one app (out of 656 on my phone) requires my App Store login info. It was listed in my settings. When I went to the app to investigate, after pulling consent to use my login info, I found that I can still access my purchases without using the App Store login. So what is the need to use my login and they provide no other choice to use an email login? Also, the feedback section of the app requests that if there is a payment related issue to upload payment and contact info details when there is an issue. That sounds a lot like the developers are requesting credit card info and personal information for billing address that is unnecessary if we are forced to use the App Store details.

Fantastic recreation of analog films

FIMO does a beautiful job of recreating the look of classic analog films. There are a number of free film types available with no restrictions. Additionally there are others available for a small charge. All are extremely high quality and well worth it. I keep looking for reasons to take pictures just to see this app work its analog film magic.I do have one request for the developer: please consider an option to import photos without changing the aspect ratio or adding a frame. I have photos shot in other apps that end up getting cropped badly when FIMO forces a particular aspect ratio during import.

Yeah this app collects WAY too much data for a “camera” app...

Before registering for an account with them. Their privacy policy states “we may collect personally identifiable information about you, such as your full name, ID/passport number, portrait, phone number, email address, IP address, device identifier, geological location, billing information, and so on, as well as non-personally identifiable information, such as messages, images, VoIP data, audio-video streaming data, other content you sent and other activities you done under the Services.” If you ask me there is no reason this much information is needed to use a camera filter app. Before registering I recommend you read the policy yourself!

Seriously the best camera ever!

I think I wrote a review for this app before but I’m here to write another review. This is the best camera ever! I’ve only been using the EK 80 film because the colors on the pictures taken with this film is absolutely beautiful and makes the whites even brighter than the iPhone camera. I stopped using the iPhone camera and only used this. I’ve taken a bunch of behind the scenes pictures using this camera and it’s absolutely beautiful! I’ve been asked by so many people what camera I’m using and I kind of don’t want to share it because it’s my little secret haha
