Good free reader app

So far, I’m okay with this app. Many setting, no problem with the books I read and it’s FREE. The only problem is when read epub, I can only set line spacing but not paragraph spacing. It’s hard to read. When my eyes leave the screen to look elsewhere, when return it’s hard to find where I read to. If it’s have distinguish between line spacing and paragraph spacing, at least I can see around second or third paragraph that I read previously. And it’s more pretty.Hope you add paragraph spacing option in the near future.

Vertical Scrolling?

Works better than the apps I have tried but is missing vertical scrolling. Also, definition for two words? Bought the full version. Love it. I wish we could categorize the books ourselves instead of it being automatic. Especially the backgrounds. No equal in the App Store right now. Some questions can be answered on their web page.

Works after update

Thank you for making this app work for ios 9 after all this time but since the last update (30th March 2020) it just stopped working. Please can you fix this?Edit: You guys listened and fixed it. Thank you very much, it really means a lot.

Awesome!!!

I’ve been looking for an app that allows for easy access to my collection of ebooks. This is the app. It is much better than Google books and iBooks. It has lots of customization and navigation features and is easy to set up. Highly recommend it

Too many freezes

I’ve used this app for the last year or 2 without any problems. Then the last several months it seems to get stuck and freeze up. I can’t page forward or back. Can’t do anything. Finally figured out how to open it to the main library screen and delete the book. I opened the file on my PC and it seems to be a special character or graphic on the next page that is causing the problem. This never happened before and now it’s occurring on almost every book. Must be something in the latest update. It’s just not worth it to use this app anymore. More trouble than it’s worth.

latest update completely broke text formatting

all text is massive now and seems to not tespond to settings in any way that makes sense - basically broken nowiphoneX - user for a couple of years

Great no frills reader, but with room to improve

Really great simple reader - the menu and options are unobtrusive and easy to navigate. Really great margin and spacing customization which a lot of the other epub readers dont have. My biggest hang up is that there doesnt seem to be a way to mark read and unread book or mark them as completed. Otherwise, a really strong and great app!

Good app, but problem with highlighting

I really like this app. It’s free and easy to use, but in the past you could highlight sections then go back to said highlighted sections. However with the new iOS 16 update you can no longer do that. Really love the app in general though.

Exceptionally excellent ebook reader

Unlike this wonderful app, Libby, (Apple) Books, and other ebook readers offer only basic customization (e.g., font, day/night mode). This brilliant, feature-rich app is freaking free! (And the premium version, which I adore, does not cost much.) It may not have a shiny look that other apps fool you into believing they’re worth your time; however, it is a well-coded app that everyone who enjoys reading ought to use.

Good but has bug with footnotes

Nice reader, but has bug with big footnotes. It shows pop up with just part of footnote. “More” button is shown sometimes, but mostly is missing for the book with lot of long footnotes I’m reading currently.UPDATE: Fixed in 1.0.15, thanks a lot! Small issue with expanded footnote screen coloring is left. In the dark mode expanded footnote screen has white bottom section with “back” button. I think it should be dark as well.

Favorite Book Reader now works on iOS. Major e-book formats are ePub (including main features of ePub3), unencrypted Kindle azw3 (a.k.a. mobipocket) and fb2(.zip).

Other supported formats: RTF, doc (MS Word), HTML, plain text. FBReader can synchronize your library, reading positions, bookmarks, etc. with the FBReader book network (https://books.fbreader.org/), a Google Drive™ based cloud service. Alternatively, you can download books in the browser and open them using FBReader. A rich set of options allows you to configure reading parameters and app behavior for your preference. The free version of FBReader has a few limitations. You cannot store more than ten books in the library. The built-in online translation feature is disabled. You can upgrade FBReader to the full version to unlock all the features.
