Live view

No live view - did anyone find a solution? Looks like DJI isn’t really interested. What about the class action. Anybody have a fix for live view?So embarrassed I hope someone benefits from my ignorance. Believe it or not I’m a 35 year technologist - programmer and engineer. But, in settings the FPV button was off. I’ve never seen this switch, my drone has been put away for months. Meanwhile I have a new phone and updated app. One of these reset this switch (I believe). Haven’t seen this advice in any of the forums or here. So check it. Big ole embarrassed smiley face goes here.

Would not buy DJI again based on this catastrophic support issue

I could not understand why my perfectly fine Phantom 2 V+ stopped working and could not show a live video stream. I though I did something to it. Not only did i lose the live video stream, my P2 behaves erratic and the app triggers a battery low alarm right away on a new battery causing the drone to drop. Again, I thought this was hardware. Then I started flying it without the app. Outside of the live feed, it flies just fine now. I have to fly visually because I don’t have the live feed.

Where is the next update for 2018?

Since the last update in Nov 2017 my DJI Phantom 2V has been useless. It flies fine and I have full control except that I can no longer take pictures or stream video. It loses it’s connection in just a few seconds even when it’s only a few away. It’s absolutely absurd that they mucked up it’s primary function, taking pics and vids. If you don’t update the app soon, I will be done with DJI products. No way I would fork over $1400+ if in a few years you’re going to schmuck up the app so I cannot use it anymore, hoping I’ll buy the latest model.

Working with no issues here

I've had a Phantom 2 Vision Plus sitting in a box for over two years. I was going to try to sell it but I couldn't get anything for it and as I have a renewed interest in the hobby, I decided to get it out and see if I could get it going. The first thing I did after getting the batteries charged was to update the firmware on the controller, the Phantom/Naza and the IMU with the latest available on the DJI website. Everything works great. I'm getting the live camera preview and not seeing any functionality issues with the application. For those having issues I would recommend doing the updates and trying again.

Knock on wood!!

I have had my Phantom 2 vision sitting in its case for a year and a half. I've been reading all the issues everyone's been having and was hesitant to pull it out. I got it charged up and immediately updated the firmware via my PC for the remote and Phantom. Then fired up the app and RE and encountered no issues. I'm hoping it stays that way. I did multiple power cycles and reconnects to see if I had an issue to it didn't happen in flight and knock on wood all is looking good right now with telemetry working and live feed also working.

Killed My Phantom 2

This latest DJI software update killed my Phantom 2 more effectively than flying it into a concrete wall at maximum speed. Like everyone else, I received a notice when I was gearing up to shoot some overhead pictures and videos at my local race track that an update would be accomplished in only 60 seconds. And, in only 60 seconds, my Phantom 2 was rendered unusable through no effort on my part. At some future date, DJI may choose to provide another software update that may correct its recent faux pas. In the meantime, my Phantom sits in its carrier gathering dust. Good job, DJI! BTW, my enthusiasm to upgrade to a Phantom 4 is now lower than Death Valley.Follow-up. Thirty-one (31) reviews have now been provided for this app (as of 23 Aug 16). All 31 have received one star. If a zero star rating could be applied, I'm sure all the reviews would reflect a zero rating. This catastrophic version of the app was released on 7 July 2016. You would think 6 weeks would be enough time to release a fix or develop a strategy to undo the damage done to your customers. I obviously still believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the tooth fairy, and the government. DJI, however, I have lost any regard I had for your company and its products. It will be a truly cold day before I do business with you again.

Still unable to connect to camera!

Since the June firmware update I have been unable to connect to my camera and I was hoping this emergency fix would solve the problem but no dice. I tried updating the app, reinstalling the app, re-binding, dancing in a circle while swinging a rubber chicken over my head and still no luck.I was looking to upgrade to another drone soon but if this is the support I'm going to receive from DJI I will most likely be looking at different manufacturers.Long story short....DON'T APPLY THIS UPDATE.

UPDATE NOW!!!

I'm sick of waiting for a new update so I can actually get a live video feed. Just because you came out with a new product doesn't mean you should stop supporting this app...ridiculous. You just want people to buy a new product and then I'm guessing you'll make the new app malfunction after a couple years so people will have to repeat the process. FIX THE LIVE FEED ISSUE FOR THIS APP so we can actually use your product that costs an arm and a leg, then maybe you'll establish some credibility. Not falling for your greed.

Greed will always superceed quality

How the hell do you stop supporting a product that is $1,300 after just 2/3 years of its launch ? This seems to be another corporate greed scheme to force hobbyists into purchasing the latest model and discard the older ones. Seems like a $1,300 commitment to DJI every two or three years. I personally am done with this. They rendered any phantom before version 3 useless. I'll take the satisfaction of running this thing over with my truck. Don't fall for it. Corporate greed will always find a way into your pockets. Find another hobby. This is unethical at a huge level. I have had my quad for only a year and a half and now it's pretty much useless. So much money out the window. Lesson learned..

Still needs update to fix live view!!!!

Update as of Jan 23, 2017 - Still no update to fix live video feed. Thanks for nothing DJI!Update on July 7, 2016 - Still does not fix the issue of no live feed since last year when! Now it's bricking more users! What is the deal with the program writers?! Please fix the live video feedJan 14, 2016-Update on another so called update! The update did not fix the live preview feed! I was really hoping the developers fixed this mess! Could you at least give a press release saying that you are trying to work on it or that you guys are aware of the situation? Update from November 2015 still does not work. No live view feed !! DJI really needs to update this app otherwise my Phantom 2 Vision is useless. Many others agree to this and are having the same problems. I have emailed numerous times to DJI but no response. Sad to say that DJI has moved on from this app and the Vision because they have developed newer drones to sell. I hope they fix this with another update.
