Frustrating at higher levels

I adore Delicious Emily games, there hasn’t been one that I haven’t played. At first this was really fun. Great graphics, storyline, etc. There are little daily bonuses that you can get. Frequent rotation of extra games where you can unlock power ups to use temporarily or sometimes win in competitions and get things like fireflies or bombs. You have three hotel guests that you check in and out of your bed and breakfast. Despite all of the hard work that Emily, Patrick and everyone does to improve the Bed and breakfast the guests sure don’t pay well. Expect to earn either 10 or 25 coins per guest. Even with that I am struggling now. I expect games to get harder as you pass levels. I am on level 726. It is no longer enjoyable, every time I play it is just increasingly frustrating. Since about level 500 I have to wait and cross my fingers to use the daily bonuses in my gameplay. But that means I can’t play when I want to because I know I can’t pass the levels by myself. It is now unnecessarily difficult designed to make you spend money. I play games to relax and enjoy. Not to stress out. I’m not sure how much longer I can play before I just have to uninstall.

Buying plants to create more fruit

I absolutely love this game! I’m not usually a fan of match 3 but I love gamehouse! One suggestion that would be useful that would help a lot is whenever you have gems and you’re going to use them to buy fruit trees, etc to get more star if there was a confirmation that showed up when you want to spend gems on them. I am currently waiting for the new chapter to release so I have stocked up on gems. Unfortunately I accidentally clicked one of the spots that I was eligible to buy a tree for to get another star but didn’t want to do that. I ended up spending gems on that tree that I wasn’t planning on doing in the first place because I clicked in the wrong spot. I think if a message shows up that says “are you sure you want to spend gems on this” or something along these lines it would help out a lot so this doesn’t accidentally happen anymore.

While I’m waiting...

This latest update is just ridiculous with the long wait times for each and every task; one must wait hours for each task or pay big money to speed them up. Players already wait for new chapters, only to then wait wait wait some more to complete them. Obvious cash grab since this would test anyone’s patience. I find this so off putting, I will likely delete the app. The game is cute, storyline is not very interesting. The ‘season pass’ portion of game should continue to give rewards or start over after completion, perhaps just some coins given per star collected after the ‘season’ has been completed. I don’t recommend spending stars on all the plants, trees etc. since there’s currently no benefit to this, just more waiting for a new ‘season’ to begin again.I’m not liking the direction Gamehouse is going lately. Development seems to be focused on monthly chapters rather than releasing the full, high quality, time management games they used to make.

I’m Not A Fan

I have payed every Delicious game that has come out. Knowing this was a Match 3 game made me hesitant. Match 3 games are known for being huge ripoffs to consumers, as the levels eventually get so difficult they are impossible to finish without using boosters. And this has become the case, too, with this game. I am at Level 54, and have been enjoying the game but now at level 54, I am done with this game. I’ve tried this level maybe 20 times and can’t beat it without boosters. This level has only 35 moves, and you have to get all this: uncover 15 cookies and collect 40 oranges. Not to mention that it takes two tries to uncover the grass to get the cookies, there is a moving river that shifts all the pieces so strategically planning a move is impossible. Oh, and the oranges have to be “grown” from two trees next to the river and they require 3 different combinations next to the trees so they spout oranges. Then you have to somehow match oranges to collect the oranges, which are scattered throughout the board. In 35 moves. Ummm nope. I’m going to nope right out of this game, and shame on you for creating a game that forces you to purchase boosters. And the boosters are so expensive that the coins you purchase don’t last long. I seriously object to this kind of extortion.

Level 989 was the last straw

I wasted 2-hour’s worth of lives and 16 boosters (yes’ you read that right, SIXTEEN) on a level that is unbeatable. I had already had issues with this game and the difficulty of its levels before but this was the last straw. This proves to me that the game designers set the difficulty of the higher levels to such a degree that they’re impossible to win without blowing a bunch of money on power ups and boosters. And, again, that would be fine if the story after Mary and Gilbert’s wasn’t a total snooze fest. I’m still yet to understand what the hell these two old dudes are doing at the B&B, what, if anything they have to do with Emily and the gang, and how exactly an outdoor yoga studio is involved. Speaking of yoga studios, three diamonds each just to watch Emily do five yoga poses?! Screw you, designers. Nobody cares! That’s it. I’m done. I’ve already deleted this game and am moving on to something else. My biggest regret is the time I wasted on this pathetic game and it’s crap storylines. I may still play the Gamehouse simulation/time management games, but I’m staying far away from anymore match-3 games they make. This was two months of my life wasted that I’m never getting back.

I LOVE this game!

I have also played every Emily’s game and loved them all, so I was excited when this came out. I was however, hesitant, when I saw that it was a match-3. I love (or should I say used to love match-3s), but I have played so many, that they’re getting quite boring. This game combines the match-3 with the story telling and “designing” your own little world, so there’s so much to do and look forward to. The match-3 part is really different than most others; it’s challenging, but not boring. It’s also not so challenging that you can’t beat the levels, given enough chances. I don’t know what level I’m on (pretty high though) and I’ve had to play some levels 15 times before I win, but eventually you do get the winning combination of pieces and moves. Whenever I say, “this level cannot be beat!”, I always end up beating it). I just wish the story would come out faster. Whenever a new chapter is released, I play it right away, because I have so many diamonds saved up. I don’t like having that part “resolved” by the long wait times to complete each task. Regardless, this is one of two or three games that I play daily, without fail, and I love it!!!

Lack of Choice Disappointing

I am a longtime GH subscriber and was eager to support GH's venture into match-3 games. Unfortunately, this game has only one advantage over Gardenscapes and Homescapes in that it allows you to passively earn money. My complaints are that they do not provide you with as many decorative choices as Gardenscapes and Homescapes does, so it's kind of less interactive and interesting. Most of the time that you complete a step, it just plants a boring shrubbery or 3 barrels without giving you much choice ... Homescapes and Gardenscapes’ addition of the limited edition rooms and special events are much better, although now they are getting ridiculously pricey. Moreover, the season pass is quite underwhelming. It gives way too few rewards for the amount of days it lasts and, as such, it makes spending diamonds on expanding your B&B decorations worth it. The fact that the season pass is the reward for subscribers at $10 is way not worth it.Lastly, I don't like the voice actor for Emily, she sounds old and not sweet so it ruins my enjoyment and immersion. I much preferred the voice actor that played Emily in Delicious: World; I hope you guys can keep working with her to keep continuity between games. Patrick seems to sound the same in both, but if it's a different actor for Patrick, they both sound good. If GH keeps changing voice actors, it makes it hard to stay attached to the characters.

Beware the shady strategies to get your $$$

I’ve been playing this game pretty much since it came out. I played all the available levels and finished all available chapters and then they’d release a round of new levels every so often. Once again the chapters have run out but there are a lot of “new” levels to play - HOWEVER they are not new at all. I’ve actually started recognizing levels - they’ve just started recycling them. I’m on level 862 and have accumulated more than 200 diamonds, yet can’t advance in the game because there are no new chapters. Somethin’ ain’t right. Additionally they changed the rate at which stars renew to EXTREMELY long times. It used to take 2 hours at the maximum, now some of them are 12 hours! And you used to get 50 coins just for finishing a level, now you get 30. It would be one thing if it has always been that way, but when something changes to affect the customer negatively, it all feels like cheap dishonest strategies to get you to spend money to continue playing, and yet the levels are recycled. New levels would have at least held my interest while you took your time developing new chapters but this is crappy. Deleting.

You’ve got to be kidding me!!!

So you decided to eliminate the harvesting and the pets, well, what happens to all the diamonds I’ve invested buying all the plants and pets, then? Are you going to give them back to me? To all of us? Because you should! I could have saved them all and use them for the storyline, had I known you were going to do this. I’m not sure I’m going to continue to play this game, what the heck was that?!*Updated after they gave me a ridiculous answer and removed another star because of that. Basically they said “Great question!” (Which they never answer!) “We made se changes because we listened to your feedback. You can now change the backgrounds as much as you like”. First of all, you could do that months ago, they they got greedy and started to charge you for that. Second, not sure whose feedback they listened to, I never got a poll or questionnaire of any sort. Most importantly, they completely ignored my question and gave me this cookie cutter reply, so they think I’m stupid or illiterate? I still want to know if they plan of giving us back all the diamonds we invested in upgrading and buying the features they arbitrarily removed, that could have been used for the stories, had we known they were going to get rid of that part of the game and we would lose all those diamonds. I think I should delete this game.

Delicious Bed and Breakfast

Beautiful game with beloved Emily and Patrick running the business. They keep the gamer busy doing errands around the property indirectly by matching up objects to get the task done. You never see inside the house, only the yard. In previous Delicious games, Emily always directly serves customers until advancing to next level. Bed and Breakfast is fun but don’t like that there’s only 5 lives at a time to complete each task (and then you have to wait 28 minutes for more lives or spend points). There should be 8 to 10 minimum. Also to get extra moves costs 900 points and should be much less. I’m past level 200 and have to be patient with these conditions when it’s fun getting the tasks finished. There’s also a story involved but mostly just a cute game that keeps you busy and looking forward to the next one.
