Great puzzle
It offers several new puzzles daily ranging from somewhat easy to real challenges for me. The easy switch from across to down (vice-Versa) is a plus as is the ability to ask for a "stumper" answer. While I understand the need for ads, there should be a way to dismiss them without having to reboot the program. Regardless, I still think this is one of the better cross word programs out there.
Update is harder to see
Update: Developer emailed me to say you can change back to the previous view in the settings, thank you!I have used this app for some time and have really enjoyed the ability to access and complete the crosswords. The recent update however has made the puzzles and keyboard tiny, and much more difficult to see and read. I see how they were trying to get the entire puzzle in view above the keyboard but I much preferred the previous version - you had to scroll a bit side to side or up and down, but it was larger and easier to see.
Great App - Just Would Like a Purchase/Ad-Free option
I’m using an iPhone 10S using no custom screen view settings, and the crossword always “spills” off the screen a square or two to the right. This would be an easy fix.And, as stated in my review head, I’d be willing to pony up a few bucks instead of waiting out the (tasteful and short) ads.If these were both resolved, I’d give this a blazing five stars.
Great Crossword Puzzles
Love the app - one of the better crossword puzzle apps out there, for sure. I would like to offer three suggestions for future versions though: 1. Please offer an ad-free version. I’d gladly pay a few bucks not to have ads.2. The interface is a little drab (I love gray, but not necessarily for crossword puzzles). Nothing bright, or hard on the eyes, but not a drab gray color either. Also, I think the game would benefit from a smoother font. It would be nicer on the eyes also.3. Being able to sync between devices would be terrific, possibly via Facebook or iCloud, as many apps do. Super convenient, and keeps folks coming back to use the app.Otherwise, great job!
HIDDEN TREASURE!!!
This COMPLETELY FREE game has multiple NEWSPAPER CROSSWORDS for whatever day you select to play. If you’re a hard core crossword fan like me then this will be your highlight of the day like it was mine! Like many others throughout the past I’ve downloaded hundreds of crossword apps just to delete them for being to expensive/too many ads but this blows them all out of the water!! You have nothing to lose right? Lol
Good reliable app
Overall a very good app. Automatically downloads at least 3 or 4 puzzles a day. It claims other numbers, like “downloading 7 of 8 puzzles“, and then when you look, there are 4 puzzles. Also - note to the developer - Wednesday is abbreviated Wed, not Wen.On the other hand, the app has never crashed, and I’m happy with it.One complaint: When keying in letters for a long horizontal word the screen jumps back and forth, sometimes putting the letter you’re keying off the screen.
Problems. Reply to latest fix
Latest suggestion after most recent fix did not work. Would suggest going back to the most recent version prior to last update. Excellent response time on issue. 14+ iOS not viable for me at this time. Game opened with same cover and list, but game itself has regressed to what appears to be an antiquated version. All puzzles have black squares instead of white, mini puzzles have no squares at all. Why did the developer just go back to the version that was working prior to the glitch. Impossible to play. Extremely upset that I my have to permanently delete my favorite game. This is perhaps the finest crossword puzzle game I've ever seen or played. Suddenly just after midnight it would not load. It would try and I could see the opening screen but in less than a second it crashed. I have double checked and the parameters for my IPad are ok. I even deleted it and reinstalled. If my IPad were not compatible the system would have told me. I miss this game and would like to know what can be done to make this right.

I love this particular game ! I’ve never had any problems with it. There are so many different puzzles! There are/were times I would go back and forth trying to choose which one to do! Thank you for this app. Please don’t change it!
Absolute Best Free Crossword Puzzle App
I’ve downloaded LOTS of free crossword puzzle Apps, and this one is — hands down— the best of them all. You get several new free puzzles per day (usually 5-7) from (mostly) major newspapers like Newsday, LA Times, etc. (sorry— no NY Times, though). They represent a nice selection, ranging from fairly easy to real stumpers. And if those aren’t enough for you, you can even go back to previous days and do one that you hadn’t gotten to yet. Movement within the puzzles is fairly intuitive. They can be worked in either portrait or landscape (a real plus, IMO). The blocks and text for clues are large enough... plenty easy to read. Ads never interfere with working a puzzle... they only appear if you leave the puzzle for some reason. PLUS all ads are only 5 seconds long! You can choose to show errors or not, and you never have to pay for anything unless you want to buy additional puzzles... but why would you, when you already have so many great free ones to choose from? No gimmicks or froo-froos, just the best free crossword puzzle App around!

Downloaded this APP while I was home sick and couldn’t get out to the store for a crossword book. I absolutely love it! It tells you immediately if your word answer is right or wrong. You get several popular crosswords each day from national newspapers. They aren’t too difficult, nor easy; but just right. Thank you from a very happy puzzler.
