Overall excellent but sometimes glitchy

We stream CPR everyday, it’s been our companion for years. The app is overall easy to use, providing current news, local, national and international. Great library of podcasts. The only disappointment is the occasional halt in the livestream - sometimes it comes back automatically and sometimes we need to restart the app. Overall a great app

Great NPR station!

CapRadio is my companion, and I like just about everything about it. There are some things that disappear over time, replaced with other things, for instance the second hour of science Friday is now gone, but I know if I am sufficiently motivated I can look that up online. I like the visual links to additional stories that you can click on, but I often wish that the visual would be there when the story opens, particularly if it could be a little larger. All in all though, I’m very grateful to have such a great station to listen to. Good job, guys!

Best!

This is one of the best radio stations I have ever used. The variety of programs is great. I never get tired of finding out new and interesting things. This station is what I listen to when I drive and it keeps me going when I am off on a walk. Walking would be boring without it. I have it on my iPad and my iPhone, so can use anywhere!

Pause live radio!

The best feature is being able to pause. So many times I’ve missed a key point because I had to step away. No longer. Simply pause and restart after a bathroom break or grabbing something out of earshot. I love selecting individual stories and sharing them with friends or family. The app makes it easy.

Great radio for classical music

You are frankly one of the best radios in the nation for classical music. We learn and discover so much thanks to you and your programming. I came from a city where the classical music radio was shut down! I like the app, one improvement suggestion I have is to have a playlist that is easier to see continuously without the need to refresh constantly. Thank you for a great radio!

Not very good

If you listen to a particular show, you can’t come back to live radio after. You click on the live menu and just get a page full of snippets you can hear on demand (why aren’t they on the “on demand” menu instead of the “live” menu?). You have to force the iPhone to shut the app all the way down and then when you come back in, the livestream is queued up at the bottom. Not intuitive at all. The NPR app is an easier way to listen to live CapRadio.

Invaluable, but ...

Everything you’ll want from Capital Public Radio is here, but finding things can sometimes be a challenge. The locations of listings for programs, playlists, and other features seem to move around, and occasionally can’t be found. The music streams provided are not exactly the same as what’s being broadcast, but still gives 24 hours of classical or jazz. Has occasional technical glitches - today while I was playing the classical music program Connections, something caused the play/pause button to freeze, and the sound to go off although according to the screen the program was still playing. May have been due to some combination of the end of the program, my iPhone locking itself, playing while on the Qi charger, and the dual control provided by the linked Apple Watch. Apps for other stations weren’t affected. Had to learn the new iPhone XR gesture to get to the App Switcher (itself an adventure) to close the app and reopen to get it to resume playing. All in all, though, still worth having.

Does what I wanted

I wanted a way to stream Cap Radio classical and this app does that. The app is the current NPR-style: overly busy and difficult to navigate, but I put that on whomever NPR contracted to build it (the WEMU app is the same). I do like being able to replay shows, and that’s the main advantage over just a live mp3 stream through iTunes.

Great content, very reliable, CarPlay is super

This is a great radio station and the app brings it to you easily. Streaming is fast and never gaps unless I’m out of cell range. The only thing I don’t get is how quickly it is evicted from memory. If I stop the car and pause the music, when I open it again it has to start up from scratch. Even if it’s only a minute or two and I’ve done literally nothing with my phone since the. Otherwise wonderful, especially Jennifer Reason and the wide variety of classical music.

Good way to hear news/music

This has worked well for me to hear the news away from the radio, and the music stations offered as streams. Interface is simple, although a bit cluttered. Would like a list mode for stories where the pictures could be made smaller or have no pictures so you could see more headlines without as much scrolling. Also the player controls at the bottom of the app are large. It would be nice to be able to shrink these down as well.
