Truly an incredible game

I'm so glad they ported these to iOS so more people can experience them. These are intriguing and emotional games. Incredible stories, solid acting, and fun to puzzle through. <3 so sad the series is over but the end was perfect.

Great game. Great series!

I've loved all the Blackwell games. This is the first I've played on the iPad and it was very well done. The games have a really interesting setting, great dialogue, and puzzles that are clever but not frustrating. Highly recommended!

Addicting series! Love this installment!

I have played all of the Blackwell games on iOS, as well as Shivah. I love them all! This installment flowed really well - very entertaining story (my favorite character was Jamie) and 99% of the puzzles were organic and logical*. I have to admit, I couldn't put this game down and I finished it in about a day. I also think Dave Gilbert should explore incorporating more of a love story in his next game. The little bit of it I experienced was actually kind of fun/sweet, albeit slightly creepy only due to the age difference. Anyway, overall, this game makes me want to download the other Blackwell games and play them all over again. Very well done! I can't wait for Epiphany to be released on iOS!*Spoiler Alert:My only complaint is that "Sterling" should pop up right away when you do a search on Oogle for "STP" along with "Temp Agency". I tried so many times, but it wouldn't work until I actually tapped on both those clues in the myPhone Notes and THEN Rosa made the connection herself (even though I knew all along). It's very frustrating to have to deal with that *technicality* when you allow players to use "Oogle" freely, but expect linear steps to be made in order to solve a puzzle.

AWESOME.

I haven't played the 5th game yet, but this is my favorite one so far. I played it for hours.. I kept trying to take breaks, but couldn't for long. Super addictive. Great storyline and perfect level of complexity. I wish there were more games like this and I can't wait to play the next one!

Really beautiful. This is how you do bittersweet.

The ending hit me in the feels. A great ending to an intriguing little series of games. I think this may be my favorite of Wadjet Eye games, and my favorite in the Blackwell series. That’s saying a lot because it’s hard to end a story well. Post GOT recovery, I couldn’t help compare endings. This hit a lot of nuanced notes of a story told over 4 games and 2 generations of women. Loved it. Love all the games, but this one is very special. Joey and Roseangela are classics.

Great game

Wonderful series, perfect for iOS. Interesting, adult, serious - unlike most of that genre, so feels unique.

Best of the series so far

I haven’t yet played the 5th installment, but this one has been the best! Enjoyed the others but they were more linear. This episode is definitely more of a complex mystery, and the puzzles are more logical.

Near perfect game.

Bought all of these and they sucked me in. I loved playing them and I’m sad it’s over. If you like point and clicks you will love these.I’d love to see some more Blackwell games, maybe a few prequels or sequels.

Description

Street psychics. Their blinking neon signs are everywhere, promising love and wealth and happiness. They make a fortune preying on the gullible and milking them dry.

So when these victims begin dying and leaving confused spirits behind, it can only take a genuine psychic (and her wayward spirit guide) to clean up the mess. From seedy downtown nightclubs to penthouse apartments to a luxury yacht on the Hudson River, Rosa and Joey will unearth the truth about the underground world of street psychics - including some secrets that Joey would rather be left buried. This is the fourth in the series begun by "Blackwell 1: Legacy," "Blackwell 2: Unbound," and "Blackwell 3: Convergence" (all available now). The story is concluded in "Blackwell 5: Epiphany" (coming soon). Rock Paper Shotgun - "The Blackwell Deception is hands-down [Wadjet Eye's] best adventure yet, and one of my favourites in a very long time." Adventure Gamers - "Perhaps the best game in the series to date, Blackwell Deception is an enjoyable retro title and a well-rounded effort that’s easy to get into and hard to put down." [3.5/5] Alternative Magazine Online - "The Blackwell Deception is a welcome addition to one of the most enjoyable adventure game series ever made." [9/10] Jay is games - "Packed full of mystery, character, charm and suspense, it's a delight from start to finish."
