Super easy to use the app and get the bike. Worth it if you’re going to the most common places around Rio!
The app was Very easy to figure it out 👍 no issues at all
The app was difficult to navigate for a foreigner and ultimately, after 20 mins of trying, it rejected me. I’ve used similar apps in European and North American countries without trouble. Also, the support page led to a 404 page :/
I’m able to make an account and put a credit card in, but it throws an error when I try to sign up for a plan in order rent a bike. Good idea for bikes — hopefully a different company executes better bc this one is garbage.
It’s awesome to see how it’s getting better day after day! Keep the good working guys!
Don’t waste your time if you’re not Brazilian or don’t have a CPF. I’m astounded- São Paulo and Rio are among the largest, most interesting metropolises in the world. Bike Itau is the only bike rental app in these cities, but you can’t use the service if you’re not Brazilian... Also, the bike rental stations only accept credit cards, so your debit card are also useless. Waste of time
My boyfriend are here traveling for a while and we were hoping to use the bikes but you must have a Brazilian, Chilean, or Argentinian passport and phone number to use the app. Please update the app to allow all passport users to use the app! You’re missing out on more business from expats and travelers in Brazil!
Created my acc with difficulty, because the apo doesnt allow me to write in it. So inhad to copy and paste all the info. And when i has finished putting the card info, it said their servers were ofline. Couldve said that before i spent 15 monutes in the street creating my account....
I’m from South Africa, it worked no problem. My girlfriend had issues with her credit card, but after contacting support they sorted it out.
If you are traveling about and not from Brazil, then forget about being able to rent a bike. This system is losing business on foreigners that travel to Brazil. The worst thing about the app is that it doesn’t tell you this upfront. You have to try a bunch of things before giving up and realizing that it just won’t work for non Brazilian nationals.I would recommend one of two things:* make it clear that the app is only for Brazilians* allow anyone with a credit card or PayPal to rent the bike. You could ask for an upload of passport and even a $100 usd hold, if you are concerned about the bike not being returned
See where the bikes and docking points are available at stations in your city. Purchase subscriptions and rent bikes directly from the app! You can also use the Bike Itaú App to: • Purchase a bike sharing subscription directly from the application • Rent a bike and get a ride code for any station • Find nearby stations manually or using your device’s GPS • Find available bike or free docking point • List view of available bikes and docks • Add stations to your favorites list • Find a route to your destination and get the distance & elevation to get there • Track your rides with GPS • Get key stats like: time, distance, average speed, elevation, calories and saved CO2 • Collect those data in a personal history log • Set goals to reach for specific achievement within your own given period • Set a timer or countdown to better manage the length of your trip
