This is the best of the drawing grid apps I've tried in the store, but it's got flaws that make it unusable for me. First, the grid is not equal. The top and bottom squares are smaller then the middle. They are not equidistant. Second, you can't get down to a two line (crosshairs) four box grid. It starts as three line with six boxes and goes to smaller grid sizes with more boxes from there. The interface is great though. Wish it didn't have these flaws.
Gotta say I'm pretty surprised this app has gotten poor reviews. I find it great. It's very simple, works exactly as described - I think it's perfect. My only criticism; just wish it wouldn't refresh at night so I can leave my spot open on multiple-day projects.
Does not work. It is just a blank page. No grid. Save your money.
I've had zero issues with this app even though it hasn't been updated since end of 2015. ๐ It does exactly what I need. I can add and adjust grids over any image I want to draw. Love I can save the image with the grid for future use. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
This app is absolutely terrible. You can't even choose how many square boxes u want which is supposed to be the whole point of the app..
I really like this app, and the price is just right too! I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but just a suggestion-- I think the app icon could be better designed but that's just a preference. Peace.
I was really excited to see an art-by-grid app here. This app does, basically, what I hoped it would, however it's missing a few key functions to be truly ideal for grid art:1) It does not allow for an image to be divided into more than 24x16 squares. This is too few squares for large, detailed pieces.2) It does not feature the ability to number the squares, forcing you to keep track of the current row and column without help.3) It does not support custom sizing of the grid, so you are stuck with a 3:2 aspect ratio.4) You cannot edit the image itself in any way apart from its relative size and position on the grid. No cropping/rotation/color controls.5) The grid lines are more than 1 pixel wide at their thinnest setting. Some fine details may be blocked if the grid overlaps them and can be hard to see even on lower grid transparencies. Too few grid colors as well (only white, black, yellow, and blue).6) No double-tap zooming, making you use a two-finger-spread to zoom, (making you use both hands, which is not ideal when working on a piece). At it's highest level, the zoom fills less than 1/4 of the total screen area with a given square. At some zoom levels, some of the grid's lines can disappear from the screen. Were these issues addressed, I would happily give this app 5 stars. As it stands, it's still a recommended purchase, albeit one with some definite shortcomings.
I cannot get The grid to go over the entire picture. It is up in a corner. It asks me how many pixels wide and I have no idea. Why not ask in inches?
I bought this on my I phone assuming I could download it to my iPad also. Instead on my iPad I am required to buy it again. Wrong. I'm not paying twice to get the same app on a different device. All my other apps are available on all my devices.
I had better luck with this last year. Now I can't even see any photos when I want to select one, just blank boxes. Tried a photo at random but the resizing didn't work. I bought the upgrade and there was no improvement. I sure wish it worked.
Drawing grid, Art Grid, Sketching grid Artists have been using the grid method for centuries as a tool for maintaining proper perspective and scale in drawings and paintings. It was even used by and taught by Leonardo Da Vinci and other masters. Using the Artists Grid Tool you apply the grid method to any image on your iPhone.
