Why does the app not work?

I’ve had this app for a little less than a month and every single time I get on it, it tells me that the app is temporarily down, that it’s received too many user requests and needs time to cool down and for me to try again later. It does not matter what time of day or night I attempt to get on. It doesn’t matter where I am in my home or at work, or if I’m connected to wifi or not. I’ve restarted my phone, cleared the app and tried again, as well as continually looking to see if it needs an update and nothing is making it work. I can’t see anything I’ve sent, or even if I’ve sent anything successfully because nothing will load. I would love to use this service and I try to every day. But it just won’t let me. Is there a known issue with it or is it just mine?

My brother told my about this app, and honestly I only thought I would be sending a picture when my brother asks. But then a few days ago, I said to myself, this would be a great way to keep him updated with what is going on with the family. I use to write him letters as a kid, but writing a letter, going to the post office, and getting stands and envelopes was such a hassle. Plus stamps are expensive! This way, through Ameelio, the road to connection is so much more convenient and simpler. I can just open the app, write a letter with some pictures and then click send. Maybe it’s less intimate than writing on physical paper, but for me, it increases the odds dramatically of me staying connected with my brother. It’s been years, possibly even a decade since I last written a letter. With Ameelio, I’ve written 3 letters in the last 2 months. So thank you Ameelio for helping us keep connected. I appreciate the weekly free letters. I think my only complaint is that when I created my account, I accidentally wrote the wrong prisoner address and was told I’d have to make a new account to “fix”. Bummer. Please fix that to allow users to edit prisoner addresses and changing my email! I’m scared to log out of my current account because I’ll lose access to my memories.

Great idea, app not as good(read review)

signed up to send letters and pics to brother but i cant access his profile to see update on delivery of my first letter i sent. app keeps saying too many people trying to access app at once try again later, well i've tried several times throughout my day and still get message. app is updated to most current version as of the day i wrote this review. other than that issue, the only thing that would be nice is to enable the face recognition feature so i didn't have to keep going through all my passwords every time i want to use the app or at the very least make it to where once you login you stay logged in unless YOU choose to log out. apps quirky but if they get issues fixed i would easily rate it 5stars

Just getting worse

I loved this app until about mid December since than it’s just getting worse and now is impossible to send anything. It started mid December/beginning January where it would ALWAYS say either my wifi is unstable (when it’s not) or that the Ameelio server is down. I was only able to send anything EARLY in the morning. Now I can long in at any time but it won’t load any free weekly credits nor send any letter/postcards AT ALL. It’s always an error. I haven’t been able to send anything since mid-February, 2 weeks ago. Also, it has always been SLOWWW to send anything on here but now it is completely inconsistent! Some letters will get there in 10 days, some 3-4 weeks! I send things to the same person and two from 3 weeks is still “in transit” while ones I sent after are now delivered. The app is now pretty much completely shut down and unusable. I downloaded the newest version with no improvements. Little to no response from customer support. I have unusable credits that I purchased as well. Recent mass response from the company is that they have been working on a video app, while intentions and goals are phenomenal… the resources are not there to sustain services.

Oh my gosh thank you Emilio you help me stay in contact with my mom

I love this app because I can keep in touch with my mom who is in person it’s really great yes I do get phone calls from her but still when you can’t send something to her and it takes weeks even months Emilio only takes 7 to 10 days I know it may seem like a long time but once they get it it’s so crazy now here’s what I think you should download it you can keep in touch with your relative this is not just one of the fake people who didn’t even use the app this is a real person and this was very helpful I can finally keep in contact with my mom so thank you Emilio I really appreciate it so much you may not be Reading list but please do if you have a family member in jail or prison keep in contact with him not even and not just call thank you for reading this now sent that I have on my name if you fax do you want me to know more if you don’t you can click onto the next review if you do say in this review OK you decided to stay that’s good well it’s great I love my mom dearly and I don’t always get phone calls from her so thanks Emilio goodbye❤️

Satisfied Customer I highly recommend

At first I question the app, I sent a sample letter with pictures a month ago. My brother been in Prison 25 years and he said he got my letter with the pictures. A week after I sent it. It was free but I highly recommend people to donate and share this app on Facebook Instagram text and act.. They do everything, all you do is type and they mail it and pay for the pictures and stamps. This app is a blessing, forward to people who can use this app. I give 10 stars for great. Thank you to those in the background doing all this work as well as the person who created this app. I pray many blessings over all your life’s. God Bless all of you. Thank you!

This site is a blessing... THANK YOU for allowing us to have a way of safely and quickly getting our family photos and messages to our loved one for FREE!!! Life still goes a hundred miles an hour on the “outside” while time “inside” often stands still! Your beautiful app has allowed me to share instantly our “outside” family events, I can send a note and a photo and I can share on the “inside” instantly and I’m not trying to print out the picture, find a stamp, fill out an envelope while trying to get kids to programs, head to work or rush around... all things we take for granted being out here but that prevent our person from knowing we think of them 24/7! I also love that our young adult children can communicate and send things on their own so Papi knows we are always here and love him!!! Jess Torres

Coming from an inmate;

I heard about this app from another inmate when I was in jail about a year ago. I immediately told my family members and they all started using Ameelio. Within 3 weeks, I was getting postcards and letters every day. And my family was struggling financially, but that didn’t make a difference. Ameelio allows you to send FREE postcards and letters every week. Clear pictures on the postcards, and a lot of words on the letters. Now let’s fast forward about a year. Here I am. I’ve used Ameelio several times since I was released in may. Every time I think to write to a friend or loved one, I just open the app, and within 5 minutes the postcard/letter is on its way. I love this app and would recommend it to anyone.

Hopelessly Flawed USPS wins hands down

My first three letters I sent using this app in September’21 composed, sent and were apparently received in a fairly easy and timely manner.Since the third week of September, 2 months ago now it has been nothing but frustration, disappointment, heartache and wasted time.I have gone through the same process through the app i would have if I’d have used my Ipad or phone to compose a document with 2 attached pictures. Except by using this app three letters have never been received, and four more have never made it to the post composition point, rather have been “Timed Out” repeatedly only to then disappear. You cannot copy your document from the app to paste into another functioning word processing app when this happens so with each letter you take the risk that it’s all a gigantic waste of your time and love and energy that could be better spent with a cup of coffee and a keyboard attached to a printer. Heck, USPS even sells stamps online now so you don’t have to go to the Post Office.Customer service asks questions that cannot be answered after the letter disappears, adding another layer of frustration and teeth gnashing.THIS IS ENTIRELY A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY. I THOUGHT I WAS KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH A LOVED ONE WHEN HE HAS BEEN SITTING THERE LOCKED UP WITH NO WORD FROM ME BECAUSE I RELIED ON THIS APP.PLEASE DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!

Errors fixed

*update* This app is a life saver, they fixed the errors I was getting and it’s working wonderfully again. My husband loves the postcards I send and I love the fact that this app is so simple to use. It means so much to him and me that I’m able to do this. I absolutely love this app so much and I use it regularly. I would give it 5+ stars.. But it’s not working anymore. For the last 3 weeks I keep getting a validation error every time I try to send a postcard/letter. I have tried again and again thinking the problem would get fixed. I have emailed support many times as well with no response. I can’t be the only one having this issue, but would love to get a response so I can find out what is going on or if the app is even going to be fixed. Will update if something changes.
