Frustrated...

I just bought the app. $9.99 - so not cheap. I record a few short test sentences and all went ok. Fairly accurate. But then I recorded what I really needed to (likely about 5+ minutes of talking), and talked less than 2 minutes, and every time, I get an error message and everything I said was lost and didn't get recorded. Nothing. What happened? It's impossible to even find out or ask questions. There's no instructions link. There's no troubleshooting link. There's no contact for support link. Nothing.As a disabled person, I was excited to find this app. It would help me immensely. But right now, I feel I got screwed. $10 may not be a lot to some, but to others, it's can be everything and can change their lives immeasurably.

Good at it's core, rough on the edges

The speech recognition in this application is good. For me, it seems to be some of the best I've used. I particularly like that it will process large blocks of speech, rather than halting in the middle when I pause to gather my thoughts.But, saving text is precarious. I've accidentally deleted long passages by closing the application or just the document. I must be very diligent about saving blocks of text promptly. It's like the olden days of hitting CMD-S every few sentences when writing in Word so that a crash wouldn't wipe out much work. And, "yes, I walked five miles to school uphill both ways... in the snow. So you kids better stay off my lawn!" Yeah, the aspects of this application for saving text do make me feel like the grumpy old man I've become. And, even though this application is updated frequently, this significant downside has not been addressed.The core speech recognition function is great.

Working Perfectly!

It dictated exactly what I say perfectly. I'm also learning Spanish so it's great that I can easily translate my sentences and paragraphs to Spanish and it has done so perfectly so far. I love the simplicity of this app and that it allows quick and simple forwarding to texting, email, etc. and a copy feature if I want to paste it somewhere else. I highly recommend this app!

Omg!!!!!

I love this app is very convenient for me to talk my dictation into my phone and email it to myself. The type of job I have requires me to do very heavy documentation and to be very detailed in my documentation therefore this app is awesome I highly recommend it. The turnaround time is within seconds of me sending the email to myself ever seen the dictation to immediately copy and paste it into our system.

Falls a bit short

This app takes decent dictation, but not great, probably not as good as Siri although I'd need to use it a bit more to be sure. The reason I haven't been using it is that it doesn't allow the user to save the texts as a file, not save it to an existing file. I bought this app so I could easily take notes as I review properties for sale, then file the notes for future reference. The extra step of having to text or email to myself, and then compile it, nearly defeats the purpose of this utility.

Sometimes it works…

I paid $10 for this app and I have gotten about five dollars or somewhat less worth of value. When it works, it does a reasonably good job of translating my voice, about 90 to 95% accuracy. But three times in the past week I have dictated A fairly long note and at the end received a message “ Error in cloud transmission“ and the whole message was lost. I see that Nuance company is a contributor and my experience with them has been abysmal. Think PaperPort and Dragon Dictate. Both of these programs had much promise and started out well but the customer service was so poor and the lack of progress in the company Was so invisible that I had given up on both. Am I going to throw away my $10? Probably.

Couldn't do without this app!

I have to make notes and record all conversations I have with clients. Just the fact that I have to stop and do this every time slows my day down and makes it virtually impossible to be highly productive, but I do understand the significance of it. I used to just email myself and record my notes, but I found this app to to be much quicker and I very rarely have to go back in and change the words. I talk with a deep southern accent so you can only imagine what gets put on paper. Anyway I just love the app and it is invaluable to my business. Works great every time!

Mixed emotions

I love the app and it’s functionality. I like speaking and seeing what I said on screen. Then being able to edit any mistakes or mis-interpreted words, then being able to continue. However, the app easily loses connection then freezes up and loses everything you have written. I learned this the hard way losing my daughter’s whole wedding speech that I had written. It was a masterpiece if I do say so. I never had a bigger kick in the gut then when the app froze and I lost everything. Fortunately, I had most of it in my heart and I winged it. I was told it was beautiful. But I still feel the one I wrote was better. I was bitterly disappointed. There needs to be a save feature as you write so you don’t lose everything if you are accidentally get disconnected. It could be an awesome product if this could be done.

Faster than notes or messages

I wanted an app to translate spoken word to text so I could record things I thought about while driving. Note pads were a distraction while driving and having to negotiate the message or note apps on my iPhone was also more distracting. This app gave me easy to access and precise control for instantly recording my thoughts. Even with heavy traffic noise.

Perfect!

Best voice to text app available that I have found it and I have gone through pretty much all of them. This actually picks up everything clearly and dictates it correctly.This app unlike others rarely if it all messes up words or phrases unlike others where I have to constantly go back and correct them which defeats the purpose of voice to text (and it's frustrating to fix half of everything that you’ve dictated). It's nice to that it works with commands for dictating text that That are for dictating text on Mac but also work for iOS. Some of the commands I'm still figuring out and they might be because of enhanced dictation but overall they work. With iPhone 8 I don't have an option for enhanced dictation but on X there might be an option for enhanced dictation. Don't waste your money on any of the other dictation apps. They're completely useless and will frustrate you to no end. I have wasted way more money than I would care to admit on those and this has been best app that I have found and I always come back to it.
