Please go back to your previous app....the new map is awful! Thank goodness I only updated my iPad and not my iPhone...at least I have one reliable weather app that I can read! I hate...repeat HATE...the new look of the 9NEWS weather app! I used to recommend this app in its prior design....I would NEVER recommend it now! Please go back to your previous version!

The Best Weather App Falls

This used to be the best weather app around. I especially loved the accuracy, clarity, and up-to-date data the radar provided. Now, the radar rarely works, blocking out entire segments of my area, or jumping around in an unsmooth and strange animation. I get it: Colorado weather is hard to predict, but this app used to have the most accurate predictions of any weather app I could find. Now, it’s predictions of both temperatures and precipitation are rarely accurate.All this is only if the app loads. I get many errors about my network connection when all my other apps aren’t having any issues.

Very accurate

I have five weather apps on my phone. Of all of these the 9news weather app is the most accurate in terms of wind speed and amounts of precipitation. Up in the mountains snow amounts are usually very accurate in fact more accurate than what they show on the news on TV.

Love this weather app! Please keep!

Absolutely love this weather app! It is very accurate and lots of tools that are useful! So many times I just want to check the weather and this app is there! I don’t want an app that has all the news. I just want the weather and this app delivers just that!

Pretty worthless

I usually try to abide by the Thumper Rabbit rule of “If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all.” But I can’t withhold my comment on this one. It’s completely unusable! It is never remotely accurate. I have now had 3 times in the last month since I downloaded this, about a month ago, where there is pouring rain, hail, and such and this app shows the skies are clear within at least a 10-15 mile radius. Right now it’s pouring rain in east Aurora and the map only shows activity over Boulder area.

Overall Nice App / Can’t See Home Weather While Traveling Abroad

Overall this is a decent weather app. My local weather team does a fine job at it’s forecasting. The app does not allow me to see either my home weather or any of my saved locations while abroad. I am currently out of the country and when I open the app it informs me that “The application is not available in your current location” and displays my current latitude and longitude. There is no way to dismiss the alert screen so that I could navigate to my home location or any of the other saved locations I have. I understand that this app cannot possibly cover all locations around the globe although being able to see the places it can report on would be nice even when I’m at a place it doesn’t know about. I attempted to report this bug through the “App support” link from the App Store, for this app, but sadly it only redirected me to my local news channel’s weather website. Not a trouble submission site. I also visited the Tegna website hoping to find a support page but was unable to find that either. I hope Tegna sees this complaint and will submit it into their bug / features queue to be addressed in a future update. Thank you.

Reliable

I’ve used many many weather apps over the years and this is the only app that is accurate. I’m addicted to the “Hourly” screen as that’s very tight and reliable. The animation on the map can get a little confusing/glitchy but I don’t really need to see it anyway.

Accurate Blizzard Reports 2019

I was able to find everything quite simply plus some extras, like the recent infrared weather map movements. The hourly weather reports are mostly correct and best source for Colorado weather since it changes often.

Unnecessary update

This latest update is horrible! The map is so much harder to look at and more than half of the time I’m on there, the radar is completely wrong! It was clearly raining at my location, yet there was absolutely nothing on the radar (I have precipitation and clouds turned ON). Right now, I can see the storm tracks, lightning symbols and tornado watch boxes in my area, but again, there is nothing there on radar! I would kind of like to know what is heading toward me! The “future” tab is also very unreliable. I’m looking for another weather app, this one is so unreliable now.

Awful update

Please go back to how the map looked and operated before the latest update; it doesn’t even label the city I select as my location and the area it shows is almost the entire state. Also the severe weather layering is not see-through, so you can not even see the radar beneath it to see where the precipitation is headed. Luckily i do not have auto update on my iPad, so i am able to enjoy being able to use the old format on that one device. The satellite, dark, and light map options are all equally bad, but I settled on the light option as it is easiest on the eyes and is the closest option to the old look of the map (green over land, blue water). Please reverse the update back to the version it was a few days ago.
